The 78th United States secretary of the treasury, Janet Yellen, is very concerned about tax evasion, according to statements she made during an interview with CNBC’s “Squawk Box” that aired on October 5. Yellen claims there’s an “enormous tax gap” and she insists financial information concerning where income derives from can get “hidden.”

The U.S. secretary of the treasury wants lawmakers to push Biden’s “American Families Plan Tax Compliance Agenda” in order to solve the issue. The proposed legislation, if passed, would require banks to report all inflows and outflows of at least $600 to the IRS.

In mid-September, Bitcoin.com News reported on Janet Yellen and IRS commissioner Charles Rettig asking lawmakers to pass the “American Families Plan Tax Compliance Agenda.” The proposed legislation aims to get all financial institutions to report deposits and withdrawals of $600 or more to the…

Debt Ceiling Capitulation Symbol of Token GOP Opposition

Shortly after the Republicans declared they will not buckle in the Senate on the looming debt celing deadline of October 18th, the MSM of the DNC cranked up their “Republicans are killing us by preventing us from going deeper into debt narrative,” thought it was labeled more on the lines of “Republicans are being irresponsible, holding our nation hostage during a time of crisis.”

Within a short period ot time, the GOP had capitulated, with Mitch McConnell offering hat in hand to the victors.  The outcome was certain.  The recalitrant GOP was performative, not authentic, and the typical result occured.  The GOP betrayed its own base at the top level, who got nothing back in exchange for their capitulation.

The DNC-MSM narrative was effective right from the start, and soon, the whole troop of Senate power players turned their gaze to the White House where the Corporate-DNC’s, the CEOs in charge of our most powerful unaccountable international corporations, gathered at Biden’s feet to signal to the halls of DC that the corpos were sidin’ with Biden.

Losing both the MSM and the Corporate world alike (two factions of which were lost before the latest battle ever began) in such short order, the bold leadership of Mitch McConnell chose to capitulate, only to offer up another round of GOP becomes the villain, DNC gets the win round sure to occur at the next debt limit deadline, which is coming up in December.

The first headline in our aggregate of news blurbs covering this event starts with Talking Point Memo’s headline, which is the narrative that most likely will prevail in this whole exchange among the casual political observer who derives the bulk of their claims on truth from DNC-MSM sources.

Senate Democrats will accept a short-term increase in the debt limit that would raise the ceiling high enough to stave off default until December, a kick-the-can quick fix floated by Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Wednesday afternoon. Democrats will reportedly not accept an increase in the debt ceiling through budget reconciliation.

The situation sets up a new debt-ceiling showdown for later in 2021.

Major U.S. indexes rose after Republicans lawmakers offered a short-term debt-limit extension, helping stave off immediate concerns about a possible government default.

All 11 major sectors of the S&P 500 were green in early-morning trading, pushing the broad benchmark up 1.5%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added about 530 points, bringing the blue-chip index to 34947, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 1.6%.

Stocks appeared to get a boost from D.C. developments. Senate Democrats appeared ready to accept Republicans’ proposal to punt a showdown over the debt ceiling until later this year. Earlier this week, concerns over whether the Treasury would be able to raise money to pay its bills had weighed on investors. Treasury Secretary

Janet Yellen

has warned that her department is likely to exhaust its cash-conservation measures by Oct. 18 if Congress doesn’t act.

Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell had offered to accept a short-term extension on Wednesday, shortly before Republicans prepared to block legislation to suspend the debt limit until December of next year.

President Joe Biden and business leaders had ramped up their concerns that an unprecedented federal default would disrupt government payments to millions of people and throw the nation into recession.

The agreement sets the stage for a sequel of sorts in December, when Congress will again face pressing deadlines to fund the government and raise the debt limit before heading home for the holidays.

The building battle over how to raise the debt ceiling will come to a head Wednesday afternoon when Republicans are expected to filibuster a procedural vote to raise the debt ceiling.

The vote, scheduled to happen after 2 p.m., will require 60 yeas. But Republicans have been very clear that they intend to vote against it uniformly.

As punishment for spending trillions of dollars without GOP input via budget reconciliation, Republicans want Democrats to use the same process to raise the debt ceiling. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., says the GOP has no demands and does not intend to compromise – they are locked into their protest.

Hunter’s CCP Ties Not Relevent to Biden, Claims Psaki

Jen Psaki finds any question of ethics violations by President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden to be completely irrelevant, a non-issue, as Hunter isn’t a part of the Biden administration.  It should be pointed out that Hunter has direct continuing ties to the Chinese Communist Party through his continued ownership stake in a Chinese private equity firm.

Of course it’s totally irrelevant, and the DNC media will assure that’s what the vast majority of political casuals will believe is the case, omitting, of course, the reason for the concern in the first place, a President’s son having direct ties to a significant opponent of the United States of America, China.  But he’s not in the administration, so duh…..

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki got a bit snippy Monday after Newsmax correspondent Emerald Robinson asked if Hunter Biden has sold his remaining stake in a Chinese private equity firm with ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

“I’d point you to his representatives on that,” Psaki said. Hunter “doesn’t work in the administration.” When Robinson tried to follow up, the flack got short, saying: “You should talk to his representatives. That remains his policy. He’s been working to wind that down.”

Huh? No, Hunter’s not part of Joe’s administration, but he is the prez’s son, and candidate Biden swore up and down the whole family would divest from all overseas business interests. In October 2019, for example, he vowed, “No one in my family . . . will, in fact, have any business relationship with anyone that relates to a foreign corporation or a foreign country.”

“We are not radicals, instead, we’ve identified a problem and are seeking to restore rights through political means under the umbrella of the constitution,” Hussein Mounis, the party’s leader said during a press conference to announce their electoral programme.

Mr Mounes, who also used to go by the name of Abu Ali Al Askari, was the spokesman for Kataib Hezbollah.

He said the party has “the ability to achieve” its goals, which includes political and economic demands “with which we’ve defended the homeland and expelled anyone who wanted evil for this country.”

42 Percent of Democrats Think Covid-19 Hospitalization Rate is Over 50 Percent

It seems that both Republicans and Democrats grossly over-estimate the percentage of people who might get hospitalized as a result of a Covid-19 infection.  Democrats are 800 percent worst than Republicans as far as htting the mark, but Republicans still performed extremely porrly, to say the least.

The average percentages given for Covid-19 hospitalization have beeen between 1-5 percent.  That figure is significantly lower than what self-identifying Demorats and Republicans think the percentage is.

53$ of Democrats believe the hopsitalization rate is over 30%, while 30% of Republicans believe the hospitalization rate is 30% or higher.  Only 18% of Democrats think the hospitalization rate is within that 1-5 percent margin, while 42 percent of Republicans think the hospitalization rate is within that 1-5 percent margin.  The majority of Republicans, 63 percent, believe the hospitalization rate is 20 percent or lower, a far cry from the Democrats in error, but a far cry from accurate as well.

In one area, the wrongness is overwhelmingly on the side of the Democrats, by almost double. 41% of Democrats believe that 50% of unvaccinated people have been hospitalized due to COVID-19 when the real number is still under 1%. A still high yet relatively less problematic 22% of Republicans get that wrong.

Who got the right answer by a wide margin? Republicans. 16% recognize that the hospitalization rate is under 1%, an 800% better result than Democrats.

China’s Communist Party is facing another rebuke of its mandate of heaven claim on authority with the increasing occurance of power outages and factory  shutdowns that have been occuring and, as of the writing of this article, are trending towards being more, not less, frequent.

The problem stems from the rising cost of coal and the nation’s dependence on the envirnmentally damaging source of energy.  There may be other undelying causes such as the growing youth movment of ‘do nothing’ that has formed as a backlash to the ever-increasing demands that are being made on workers’ lives, professional or manual, that seems to be another trend happening in China today.

Still, the buk of the factor behind the rising power outages and factory shutdowns still appears to be mostly the rising cost of coal.

China Hit by Wave of Power Rationing, Outages, And Factory Closures — Radio Free Asia

China is facing ongoing power shortages in its industrial northeast triggering a wave of factory closures, with traffic lights, residential elevators, and mobile phone coverage also affected in some cities.

Power rationing is already in place in more than 10 provinces including the northeastern province of Jilin, amid soaring coal prices.

Jilin provincial governor Han Jun called for more channels to secure coal supplies from Russia, Mongolia, and Indonesia, while dispatching teams to secure supplies from China’s northern region of Inner Mongolia.

According to an estimate by Goldman Sachs, as much as 44 percent of China’s industrial activity has been hit by power shortages, leading analysts to cut their 2021 GDP growth forecast for China to 7.8 percent from an earlier estimate of 8.2 percent.

Some shops and hotels in the northeast were lit by candlelight, while homes went without power and malls shut early, amid growing concern that power shortages could also affect water supplies.

Video posted to the social media platform Weibo on Sept. 27 showed traffic queuing in darkness in one city, with captions that quoted Chinese leader Xi Jinping as calling for greater efforts to protect power supplies to ordinary people and keep the generators turning.

The worst-affected areas are mostly concentrated in smaller cities and rural areas, according to media reports.

“The reason for the power outage is that coal is more expensive this year, and in previous years it was imported into China from abroad,” Jilin resident Wang Fengxia said. “So they can’t afford it this year.”

France Wants America Out of Europe

The President of France,  Emmanuel Macron, is telling his European comtemporaries that it’s time to ween itself off American power.  The embattled President is in the midst of an election he most likely will win but might potentially lose, and he’s just seen a major arms deal between his country and Australia go the way of the dodo bird after the United States essentially gave Australia for free something better or at least on par with what France would have been paid to deliver, submarines.

Now, Macron is moving to move Europe away from America and into itself.  And don’t think a new European nationalism is not possible if and when all of Europe suddenly perceives the US is no longer a reliable defensive partner.  When faceed with the external threats without, the people of Europe may find a new european nationalism convenient to the perceived predicament.  For that to happen, America has to geet out of the way, whether it wants to or not.
