Bill Collier- Tiny, in population, Tioga County PA, where, coincidentally, The Freedomist is based, is at the center of efforts to audit Pennsylvania’s 2020 election results, which, it is alleged, are suspect. Every court so far has denied this, but it is still alleged an audit is needed.
The amazing thing about Roger Bunn, Mark Hamilton, and Erick Coolidge is that their county, the county where the Publisher of the Freedomist (myself) lives, 74.7% voted for Trump and one can gather well over 50% of all voters likely want an audit.
These three Commissioners are an interesting phenomenon where even the most conservative areas surrender their line offices to people who lack the vigor and passion of their own voters. What is more fascinating is that these usually cardboard cutouts for local officials who make no waves usually also lean in the opposite direction of their voters. But, because local politics are usually more about potholes than principles, they never show their true nature or beliefs.
So, while a County of over 40,000 may by as much as 74.7% demand an audit, the Republicans they elected to lead them, for so long and without any real challenge, have proven to not really be Republicans at all.
Having myself watched these men since the first time I came to the County in 2009, I am not even slightly surprised that these three all agreed to disagree with almost every single person who ever voted for them in order to avoid rocking the boat. They’re not bad guys, really, they just got elected by sleepy voters who didn’t vett the people who would lead their County, assuming that of they were Republicans that was good enough.
Again, let’s be clear, whatever one feels about their decision, they have their reasons no doubt, the issue is that we all keep letting people into office who don’t, when push comes to shove, reflect our beliefs and values and nor are they informed by them.
Cuban-American protestors shut down the Palmetto Expressway near Miami amid demands the US end comminism in Cuba shouting, “Estados Unidos, acaba el comunismo!”
The Cuban connunity in Florida numbers 1.53 million and plays a significant role in swaying elections at the state level, including presidential races. The community are generally unhappy with the tepid response from the current US President who is barely giving lip service to the Cuban protestors and who is doing nothing as the Cuban regime clamps down on dissent.
Despite Biden’s open-door policy for migrants to the US from Central America and Mexico, migrants known for supporting Democrats and socialism according to some, the New York Post reported his DHS has issued warnings to Cubans and Haitians not to come to the US.
According to The Post:
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas had a stern warning Tuesday for Cubans and Haitians thinking of escaping the ongoing unrest in both countries by sailing to the US: Don’t even think about it.
“The time is never right to attempt migration by sea,” Mayorkas said during a news conference. “To those who risk their lives doing so, this risk is not worth taking. Allow me to be clear: If you take to the sea, you will not come to the United States.”
In other words, “if your community isn’t reliably supportive of Democrats, you aren’t welcome in America.”
Famed chess champion Garry Kasparov, generally a supporter of Democrats and the current President, was not amused with the Administration’s response.
“Bad news for the Biden admin when I agree with Rubio & Cruz!” he posted on Twitter. “The people of Cuba deserve vocal support from a US government that isn’t worried about offending its Socialist members by speaking for freedom.”
The Democrats’ collective penchant toward totalitarianism, witness their overblown histrionics about the January 6th riots at the Capitol, which they use to label all legitimate dissent as sedition, is welle established. Their brand of woke communism through a cancel America crusade is still not waking Americans up to this quisling threat to their very national existence as a free country.
At the same time, Florida’s governor DeSantis is vocal in supporting the Cuban community but the recent law passed to make it a felony to shut down roadways and to not prosecute drivers who push through crowds rather than be surrounded and attacked, could be used against these protestors. No arrests were reported and no incidents took place. But the irony this kneejerk law in response to BLM riots may be used against a group favored by the governor wasn’t lost on anyone.
The Biden response to the Cuban protests exposes a bedeviling problem for Democrats in Florida and among Hispanics, who generally oppose actual forms of communism, including modern woke communism, and the divisive social issues/cancel culture extremism that controls that Party.
According to an opinion piece in the Hill, “Biden won Miami-Dade County by just 7 percent, compared to Hillary Clinton’s 30 percent margin in 2016, a decline that put Florida’s electoral votes well out of reach. Democrats also lost two House seats that they thought were safe. Trump won more than 60 percent of the Cuban American vote – the most since Bush in 2000.”
Biden’s current inaction on Cuba may be an admission that the Democrats have essentially given up on Florida for the foreseeable future. If Democrats don’t think this seals their brand as pro-communist, then someone needs to wake them from their wokeness and show them reality.
While it isn’t America’s job or responsibility to free the Cuban people, it is within our rights and interests to more robust support them and to demand the Cuban regime refrain from further abuses or face real action, including potentially arming the dissenters.
The political weaponization of every institution they can get their hands on is the playbook of the woke communist core who run the Democratic Party and it appears, according to this report in REASON, that the woke communists have captured the United States Post Office for their political ends.
The report details an ongoing use clones, fake people posing as real people, hacking, and facial recognition software to focus on “the right”, especially on platforms they might frequent to both monitor and disrupt their activities. Literally, if this report is true, the Post Office is acting as a paramilitary cadre to the Democratic Party to disrupt their political foes.
It seems a sensational claim and we would caution more evidence and investigation is required, certainly by Republicans who are the alleged target of this rogue effort, if indeed all this is accurate reporting.
If indeed it turns out the Post Office, a private entity chartered by the government, is acting as an agent of the Democratic Party to not only spy on Americans but to target and disrupt opponents of the Democratic Party, then this would be sedition and rebellion against these United States by virtue of the gross assault upon the Bill of Rights liberties that are being violated.
Reputationally, the Post Office, having allegedly aligned itself with only Democrats as their special institution, would lose massively and if or when Republicans gained power again serious efforts to dismantle such a rogue entity would likely be considered.
The Post Office has some explaining to do and if anyone was using its resources to violate the rights of any American, those people should be tried and, of found guilty, sent to jail for treason.
OPINION BY BILL COLLIER- Fox News reports a widely known fact: when it comes to the protests in Cuba, Democrats aren’t silent just because they don’t know what to say. Their brand of woke communism may differ from Cuba’s state communism, but the desire Fidel Castro and his mafia-like Party had for total monopoly power seems to have captured the very soul of the Democratic Party, a party base of totalitarian loons whose respect for this country, and the Bill of Rights especially, is extremely low.
Sanders whitewashed the “authoritarianism” he pretended to oppose, according to this quote:
“We’re very very opposed to the authoritarian nature of Cuba but you know, it’s unfair to simply say everything is bad,” Sanders explained. “You know? When Fidel Castro came into office, you know what he did? He had a massive literacy program. Is that a bad thing? Even though Fidel Castro did it?”
The old “Mussolini made the trains run on time” bit.
But it wasn’t just Sanders who Fox got no statement from on Cuba, see this:
Fox News also reached out to the White House for comment. Press Secretary Jen Psaki referred Fox News to the National Security Council, which then referred to Psaki’s comments on Cuba during an interview with MSNBC. Psaki addressed the lack of fundamental resources in Cuba during that interview.
Fox News has also reached out to State Department spokesman Ned Price but has not heard back.
Jake Sullivan, the White House national security adviser, took to Twitter to say the “U.S. supports freedom of expression and assembly across Cuba, and would strongly condemn any violence or targeting of peaceful protesters who are exercising their universal rights.”
All in all, Democrats likely hope the Cuban regime shuts this down quick before people in this country get the “wrong” idea that any form of communism, even the woke communist parternship between corporate monopolies and the state all under the aegis of the Democratic Party, are bad.
But while Democrats in US cities riot, loot, burn, and murder their way into power, Democrats also condemn any “violence” by protestors against a brutal, violent regime.
That’s it. “We are OK with some protesting, but let’s not get too rowdy as the police beat and brutalize you!”
Totalitarianism is the first insctinct and true love of the Democratic Party.
Meanwhile, Senator Rubio ripped Biden in a Washington Times report for not being a strong advocate for freedom, perhaps because he doesn’t realize that for Biden et al, the fall of the Cuban regime might put the spotlight on their own woke communism.
“The people of #Cuba bravely take to the streets against 62 years of socialist tyranny. 12 hours later President @joebiden @POTUS has yet to say a word about it,” Rubio wrote.
The President isn’t concerned about social justice or equity or any of the buzzwords his handlers tell him to use. He represents a narrow interest, a party base, who see in Castro, Mao, and Stalin role models to follow, not dictatorships that should be overthrown.
Back in March, the woke communist Party (Democrats) urged President Biden to back a return to the rapprochement with Cuba under Castro fanboy, President Obama. The Democrats want for Cuba what they wanted for China, favorable trade deals that may hurt the US but enrich the communist regime. Democrats are by and large woke communists and internationalists who want a “global regimen” for “climate change” and other bogeymen.
Their interests, and the reason why they seek to deconstruct US History through extreme and disproportionate exaggeration of our flaws and mistakes, is precisely because they envision a world under a global structure managed by woke communist types in corporations and governments working together.
The bottom line is, the Democratic Party does not want the Cuban regime to fall.
Democrat Representative Mary Miller of Illinois actually claimed that Hitler was right about one thing: the need to indoctrinate children and turn them away from their own parents. This on the heels of a San Francisco gay men’s choir singing they are coming for your children and promising to use schools to convert them.
We’ve gone from “honor thy father and mother”, to brainwashing children to defy and despise their parents. This is literally being taught by public teachers in public schools, thanks to the woke communists at the NEA, and the end goal is exactly what Hitler created, a totalitarian dictatorship.
What else do the Democrats want to emulate in the Nazis to turn this country into a totalitarian hellscape, which is their goal? Public schools in America have become the enemy to children, to parents, and to freedom in general and most all public teachers are either afraid and complicit or actively engaged in this criminal behavior.
It is criminal, as in a crime against humanity, what the public schools wre doing. It’s not just critical race theory, it is woke communism being crammed down your children’s throats and gender-bending over-sexualized perversion all being inculcated into your children’s hearts and mind and turning them into damaged human beings. Public schools are INSPIRED by the brutal indoctrination of the Nazis in German schools, that’s a fact we must wake up to.
Bill Collier- A so-called “global minimum tax” represents a 20th century paradigm; the wasteful shot-callers who cannot evolve past the industrial age are attempting to corral the world backwards into their own old top-down, centralized hierarchy of control. Basically, and to be blunt, it is an assault on freedom not warranted by any of the hobgoblin manufactured crises or any pretended benefit to anyone except for the extremely wealthy who don’t actually ever pay such taxes.
The Republicans, who love to soundbite for freedom and prosperity like Democrats love to soundbite for equity and justice, have no real principled response. They are quibbling over details rather than blasting this idea as insanity that is only meant to turn the clock back to the 20th century industrial age when a big boss with all the money and power lorded it over the cogs in their machine whose only real value was profit to the owners.
The “global minimum tax” (GMT) is an archaic proposal from another age that is best left behind. The massive super-state, centralized industrial economy, must be set aside once and for all to favor new forms and expressions of sovereignty and freedom between individuals in freewill participation. Decentralization, localization, jurisdictional competition, citizens as customers rather than subjects, private cities, and the general supremacy of faith, family, and community over politics are the ways of the future. This archaic response is meant to hinder the advancement of human flourishing because such advancements do not tend toward the benefit of the ruling class.
It is for this reason the Republicans, many who have also become corporate puppets, offer a lame response not worthy of any Party claiming the mantle of freedom and prosperity for all.
This is how their “objections” begin- “There has been consistent bipartisan, bicameral support in Congress for the OECD as the appropriate venue to address the digitalization of the economy, potentially including changes to longstanding global tax rules. However, the OECD project would be counterproductive if the Administration’s negotiating position concedes ground to foreign counterparties and harms the U.S. economy. “
How about, “The Global Minimum Tax is a power grab by the ruling class over working people that we will defy and defeat with every ounce of our being?”
This isn’t a response, this is collaboration.
They add, incredibly, and in betrayal of all their claims to be the party of freedom and prosperity:
The global minimum tax must be fair to American workers and companies – any special rates or exemptions offered to foreign competition must be available to Americans.
The global profit allocation formula, including any carve-outs and special inclusions, must not disproportionately affect Americans.
The targeting of American workers and companies by foreign governments must end immediately.
No, The right response is, “there must NEVER, ever, be ANY form of global tax or global minimum tax. This isn’t the 20th century, this isn’t the industrial age. This is the 21st century, the information and decentralization age.”
But, as we are of a wont to say, over and over, the Republicans are collaborationists, not opponents, to the global war on freedom Their soundbites are meaningless, their action belie their stated intentions.
The GMT won’t do anything more than potentially slow progress. The civilizational paradigm shift that is coming thanks to technology and global communications won’t be held back by such draconian chicanery. But in the mean time, this “throwback authoritarianism” to the 20th century will do real harm to millions of people before it finally collapses under its own weight.
The GOP isn’t an opposition party. They are collaborationists with the ruling class, hell-bent on lining their pockets and keeping the mere crumbs the Democrats throw to them. This response by Senator Crapo of Idaho and Republican Leader, Representative Kevin Brady of the 8th District in Texas, is a collaborationist love fest compared to what is necessary.
They didn’t oppose anything and everything connected to this global power grab and for that reason they are abject and miserable failures.
President Biden’s zero carbon plan, which he plans to ramrod through using the legerdemain of “budget reconciliation”, is a plan that will dramatically raise energy costs for the poor and middle class and, because of its approach, increase poverty.
The plan is to make all US power “100% carbon free” by 2035, an ambitious plan that necessitates switching to much more expensive “alternative energy”, possibly among which natural gas with carbon capture (not commercially viable) and nuclear energy (vehemently opposed by his core base).
The effect would be threefold: discarding power plants that took hundreds of billions of dollars to use, building new power plants that will be exponentially more expensive and will face “environmental impact” reviews and delays, and the actual cost of the energy, which will be exponentially higher for consumers.
Once again a politician, chasing a histrionic bogeyman (“climate change spells doom!”), offers a massive, disruptive, top-down solution that is expensive and authoritarian. The top-down approach means, instead of promoting individual and local energy independence through house-portable and house-affordable solutions, the Biden team, egged on by utopian extremists, is focusing on a typical OBS (“one big system”) approach that will continue to keep people dependent on massive structures over which they have no influence.
The “house portable and house affordable” solution requires changing local ordinances to promote alternative building methods that are massively more energy efficient, investing heavily in solar and wind technologies for home use and providing the blueprints free to the public, and providing real incentives to individuals to adopt an individual and local energy independence approach.
The truth is, those who claim to care about the dangers of climate change and/or pollution, both legitimate concerns, are refusing to adopt an approach that truly empowers individuals. Instead, not wanting a good crisis to go to waste, they opt for an OBS approach that perpetuates dependency and concentrates yet more wealth and power in their hands.
The level of poverty will rise not because of seeking alternative energy solutions but because the top-down OBS approach is expensive, inefficient, and disempowering to individuals and the marketplace.
Doubling down on the Marxist-based totalitarianism of “critical theory”, in this case “critical race theory” (also known as “white people are morally inferior and so is freedom” theory), the NEA wants all children indoctrinated with Marxism. This radical totalitarian front group enjoys the support of most public teachers and therefore represents the true nature of what is being done in these government-run radicalization centers called schools.
Cis white boys will be mercilessly bullied by teachers to accept their moral inferiority and do penance by voting Democrat when they get old enough and, also, by fully participating in the whole rainbow of sexual activity.
Critical race theory is race-based Marxism that aims at cultural genocide of so-called “whiteness”, teaches children they are either demonic offspring of oppressors or oppressed little angels who can do no wrong and who the white kids owe something to. The “solution” to the “problems” is, of course, totalitarianism.
The National Education Association represents 3 million public teachers, most of whom embrace the radical authoritarianism of this front group. The teaching profession has devolved into a “revolutionary” position from which to brainwash future voters to support America’s authoritarians, the Democratic Party.
Critical race theory, like the whole rainbow fascism agenda, is basically also child abuse. For the “oppressed” it renders them powerless victim and for the “oppressor”, well, their only path to some limited form of rehabilitation is to renounce themselves and enthusiastically vote Democrat to prove their evolution.
(There is no “white genocide”, the real aim is to demonize “whiteness”, associate freedom values with whiteness, then banish freedom for all, white or other, in the name of “racial justice”, but for the purpose of creating an authoritarian state.)
The National Education Association is euphemism for the National Enforcers of Authoritarianism, which is all this un-American, anti-freedom organization has devolved into. Most public teachers either love and embrace this totalitarianism and will it upon children or they go along for fear of losing their jobs.
This Marxist front group also went on in its recent Representative Assembly to attack heterosexuality and even capitalism, both of which it wants to banish from schools as much as Democrats want them outlawed.
There’s no telling what will happen if, in 10 years, little Johnny dares to say he only likes girls and doesn’t want to watch the naked drag show at the school assembly.
Letting your children attend schools run by NEA thugs is opening them up to serious psychological damage.
(Satitre)- While many were stunned by publicly-funded NPR’s woke cancel culture renouncement of the Declaration of Independence, the Freedomist was “thisclose” to issuing our own demands to fire NPR from ever associating with the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution. Publisher Bill Collier said of this firing, “Every July 4th the NPR host would read the Declaration of Independence on air and every year it was just grating on us to know these people were not the sort who should be allowed to read such an ennobling document whose sentiments they stand against so strongly.”
The reading was always done in such a tone that one could clearly tell it was never meant and just never jibed with the true ideology that animates the people who run NPR: a blatant hatred for their fellow humankind on the basis of a woke cancel culture authoritarianism.
Collier addded that, “this year it was our intention to finally put an end to this blatant hypocrisy, the idea of them reading out this document just seemed like dishonorable to the original spirit and intent, a spirit and intent that transcends the writers themselves.”
Also, the Freedomist wishes it to be known that, while NPR quit their association with such principles as inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and are openly embracing their woke cancel culture authoritarianism, it remains true they were fired. As Publisher Bill Collier stated, “They knew our official announcement was eminent and the paperwork was already sealed, they announced they quit before we could make their firing official, but, in the end, they were fired.”
As to life, they are for killing the unborn right up to the moment of birth and, paradoxically, preserving the lives of the worst murderers, whose henious deeds don’t match those of the unborn child who might be an inconvenience to its mother, which, evidently, is a crime worse than murder.
As to liberty, this one always draws a guffaw from the NPR crowd whose version of “liberty” is akin to “freedom through slavery”, or something like that.
Finally, as it relates to happiness, these people are too angry at ghosts and bogeyman to ever be happy and, what is more, they want everyone else to also be miserable with them.
NPR were also fired from associating with the Bill of Rights whose sentiments are as far removed from their woke cancel culture authoritarianism as heaven is from hell.
Their lame “justifications” for quitting, when they were fired, further reveal the vapidness of their intellect and the depravity of their moral character. The truth is, authoritarianism has no place being associated with the founding principles of freedom which built this country and which we still strive ever more perfectly to actualize.
The fact some woke authoritarians cannot see this and wish to deconstruct our past in order to destroy our future, and the fact public money supports these people, is another matter altogether. But for now we are at least relieved some woke authoritarian loon won’t be pretending their totalitarian ideology is in any way connected to our Declaration of Independence by reading from it in some simpy little tone.
Bill Collier- Angry mobs and talking heads inspired by clickbait rage content demand absolute fidelity to their party line on pain of banishment. That’s not a partisan problem and it is a reflection of a deeper battle within the culture against any and all forms of authoritarianism.
Authoritarianism is the enforcement of strict obedience to authorities, often with a loss of personal freedom, and often at the expense of the victims themselves. This expense is exacted through taxes, regulations, exploitation, and consumer fraud through the monopolization of the economy by a coterie of the top 100 corporations.
The ability of people in authority to show tolerance for and deference to the citizen in their opinion or interests is being eroded. Defy the “conservatoria”, the galaxy of leading conservative influencers and thought leaders, and you will get ramrodded into oblivion for your lack of purity. Likewise on the left, whether or not your opposition comes from the right, the left, or the middle.
This cultural devolution has now seeped into the masses, well, especially those keyboard warriors who occupy every space online. Often, any criticism of their side, or any of their heroes, will earn instant negative reactions that are usually angry outbursts that seem disconnected from what you have actually presented.
The average netizen who is ready to pounce rarely goes beyond a headline and a shallow, knee-jerk reaction. What is more, they often speak in the most intolerance language. We would provide examples, but most everyone knows of examples or has experienced these reactions.
The now abandoned saying about freedom used to read: I may not agree with what you say but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it. Now we might worry about divisive language, hate speech, extremism, misinformation, and fake news and think, “there oughtta be a law!”
Is the next exit some form of dictatorship in the shape of a “hive minded” two-party duopoly and corporate monopolies all dancing to the same drums whose tune is called by the same people?
This is a cultural problem, not a political problem. We do not impart logic, tolerance, civil discourse, love of freedom, or any of these virtues. Instead we fight a winner-takes-all battle without mercy until all signs of opposition are gone.
A society bounded by the four core ideals of our spiritual constitution as a new and free civilization is capable of handling divisive language, hate speech, extremism, misinformation, and fake news without resorting to dictating and controlling speech problems reducing individual freedom.
These core ideals need a balanced application and our understanding of them cannot be separated from the historic moral and ethical orthodoxy of a Judeo-Christian worldview. We have Unity in diversity, Popular sovereignty, Democratic equality, and Rule of law.
Within belaboring this, let’s stipulate that what we have in mind for each is this:
Unity in diversity means a free and pluralistic society of equals before God and our fellow humans, bounded by the shared values and a shared identity based on those values so that most decisions which effect most people are made through freewill participation and local civic participation.
Popular sovereignty is the spiritual sovereignty of each person actualized mostly through freewill participation and through an accountability of those who hold public office and any public trust to those they serve and profit from as well as the right and ability to exercise and preserve our own concept and convictions about culture and society with people we freely associate with.
Democratic equality represents the true and perfect democracy of free exchange through mutual profit (the free market bounded by justice and fairness is the only true democracy) and an equitable meritocracy that ensures equality of opportunity and treatment for all, for the benefit of each person and society at large.
Rule of law is the shared consensus as to the truth and standards of righteousness and justice which comport with the laws of the universe wherein the law is made by all, consented to by all, beneficial to all, and equally, fairly, and redemptively applied to all.
When we explore these ideals from their Judeo-Christian roots, when we apply them at the level of interpersonal relationships instead of mere politics, and when how we view and apply each harmonizes with all the the others, we form the basis of a cultural shift away from the top-down, centralized systems of influence and control. These systems lord it over us and also infect us with the same spirit of intolerance and imposition by manipulation, legerdemain, and even force.
We ourselves are learning from the people and corporate/government entities that are lording it over us to despise and seek to punish all those who do not agree with us. We are the problem!
But if we are the problem, perhaps we are the cure. If we examine these core ideals for a “commomwealth of freedom” built on the voluntary pursuit of civic and moral virtue, liberty in our persons and free associations, and both ideational and material independence, we can craft a cultural shift away from the petty tyrants and toward a free, prosperous, and pluralistic society of equals.
