Black Lives matter activist Pamela Moses will be spending 6 years in prison after being convicted of voter fraud. Moses, 44, was convicted of illegally registering to vote. The crime took place back in 2019. The Judge offered her probation after 9 months if she follows the program outlined for her.
Pamela Moses, a Memphis-based Black Lives Matter activist, has received a sentence of six years behind bars for illegally registering to vote in 2019.
The 44-year-old was sentenced Monday inside the Shelby County Criminal Court by Judge Mark Ward, the Daily Memphianreported Friday.
He sentenced her to six years and a day but explained that if she finished programs in prison and also “maintains good behavior,” he would consider putting her on probation following a nine month period.
The woman’s attorney said he filed a motion for another trial.
Moses founded the Black Lives Matter Memphis chapter and ran for mayor but lost the general election in October 2019, Fox 13 reported in November 2019.

At issue are European data regulations that prevent Meta from ingesting Europeans’ data on American servers. Basically, Meta says the ability to process user data in between countries is crucial for its business both operationally and for ad targeting. European laws meant to protect user privacy by keeping users’ data within the EU’s jurisdiction have invalidated previous systems. So, because Meta has been unable to reach new data sharing agreements, it’s threatening to walk away from the continent with Facebook and Instagram.
“If we are unable to transfer data between and among countries and regions in which we operate, or if we are restricted from sharing data among our products and services, it could affect our ability to provide our services, the manner in which we provide our services or our ability to target ads,” the statement reads. Then, Meta clarifies that it thinks it will be able to reach new agreements in 2022, but if it does not, “we will likely be unable to offer a number of our most significant products and services, including Facebook and Instagram, in Europe.”

An unvaccinated Canadian man has lost custody of his three children after a judge ruled he posed a risk to his immunocompromised 10-year-old daughter.
The father, identified only as Mr F. in court documents, had in-person access to his children suspended by a judge in the province of New Brunswick last week. She also ruled that the children’s mother could have them vaccinated against Covid-19 despite his objections, The Canadian Press reported.
Justice Nathalie Godbout said in her written decision that she was revoking the father’s access “with a heavy heart” but that the children “must be given their best possible chance at evading infection from Covid-19”.

Designed by a team of Johns Hopkins University researchers, the Smart Tissue Autonomous Robot (STAR) is described today in Science Robotics.
“Our findings show that we can automate one of the most intricate and delicate tasks in surgery: the reconnection of two ends of an intestine. The STAR performed the procedure in four animals and it produced significantly better results than humans performing the same procedure,” said senior author Axel Krieger, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Johns Hopkins’ Whiting School of Engineering.

Wyoming Republican Harriet Hageman, endorsed by former President Donald Trump, showed a commanding lead against the Democrat-allied Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) in a Saturday straw poll full of House candidates held by the Wyoming Republican State Central Committee.
A secret ballot straw poll of Republican party activists gave Hageman 59 votes, a 53 vote lead against Cheney, according to the Casper Star-Tribune. Cheney garnered only six votes, along with state Sen. Anthony Bouchard (R-Cheyenne), who received two votes, and Denton Knapp, who received one vote.
