It seems like the progressives are moving every day to launch more assaults on our freedoms. These little progressive dogs pile up more and more hateful invectives, leaving the Faithful to wonder how long it will be before a general race war or religious war, or both, is launched by the progressive radicals, whose behavior is more like the Muslim Brotherhood or the Spanish Inquisition (click here to read more on the nature of progressive statism) than any truly American, Freedom-Based political movement.
But be cautious, for if we do not have a clear picture of what freedom is we can be drawn into reactionary modes, going from a refusal to accept to a refusal to tolerate, or going from a feeling of being offended about being prejudged as a white person to becoming a racist ourselves against “people of color”. This is the path the progressives hope we will take, and everything they do is designed to produce this epic self-fulfillment.
I can assure you, these little progressive dogs want nothing more than for you to run up to the locked gate and bark loud and hard, so they show the other little dogs that you truly are the hateful, unreasonable, dangerous dog they make you out to be. For this reason, how we react to these little progressive dogs is essential to our effectiveness in eventually ridding our nation of this ideology of hatred and godlessness.
I propose that we define freedom in clear terms, and we agree that this is the kind of freedom we seek in the natural, and that this is the kind of freedom we are willing to defend by pledging, as our Founders did with these words- “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.” This standard will unlock the gate and expose the little progressive dog.
Pennsylvania’s flag contains the motto “Virtue, Liberty, and Independence” and, for me, this is a rather neat and concise way to define freedom as I pursue it. Moreover, I think that as objective standards go, this is both practical and beneficial to all who choose to make that their standard, even for law and public policy. These standards will unlock the gate and expose the little progressive dog.
Virtue is the basic idea that right and wrong are objective and clearly defined both by nature and by God, as our Founders often would say it. This does not mean so much that the state imposes virtue, but that it both respects the aspects of virtue that do apply to the state and that it respects and does not interfere with the practice of virtue by the People. Virtue must be respected by the state, even though the state cannot make anyone virtuous, but God along will judge and enforce absolute truth, absolute right and wrong. This standard will unlock the gate and expose the little progressive dog.
Liberty is defined as being in a state without bondage or chains, and this involves such things as the original spirit and intent of our Bill of Rights, which define liberty in real terms. Such basic liberties as liberty of conscience, liberty of expression (free speech), and liberty of self-defense are essential to our republican form of government.
The last liberty, self defense, is what all the other liberties are about, to be able to defend yourself from the tyranny of government and even from the tyranny of the mob (a pure democracy unchecked by a Bill of Rights). These standards will unlock the gate and expose the little progressive dog.
Independence is being able to meet your own needs with your own resources without needing permission from others, and without being subjected to their control. Independence is the spirit that says “we will mutually assure one another of the safety of our persons, rights, and property against all hazards, by all reasonable and legitimate means.” This standard will unlock the gate and expose the little progressive dog.
