Washington Man Kills Assaulter in Daughter’s Bedr

A father of a Yakima Washington girl successfully protected her from a would-be assaulter in her bedroom, killing the assailant in the process.

Thankfully, even in a gun control state, an American still  had access to a ‘legal’ firearm, and that saved the girl and possibly the rest of his family as well.

A Yakima, WA family got a very unpleasant surprise when they arrived home from a family outing on the evening of June 24, 2021. One of the daughters went to her room and found a strange man lying on her bed. She quickly told her mother, who then moved all of the children into a single room a called 911.

The father accessed a handgun and went into the daughter’s room. Seeing the man still on the bed, he ordered him not to move. The father reported that the stranger said some odd things to him, including, “when I jump you for that gun you are not going to like it.”

As the man started to get up from the bed, the father attempted to push him back down, but the man persisted, and when he lunged at the father, he fired, hitting the intruder five times, who later died at the scene.

The local county prosecutor reported:

“I find that the force used was both reasonable and necessary under the law. [The father] will not be charged with a crime for this lawful use of force.” via KIMATV.

We will leave the analysis and dissection of the decision by American gymnast legend Simone Biles to drop out of the Tokyo Olympics due to mental health to the future, where significantly more information might come out that would give perspicacity to the nature of that decision.

For now, we err on the side of the individual and assume her reasons for doing so are well-founded and applaud the long history she holds in representing American excellence through gymnastics on a world stage like no one else before her.

Biles, though, took things to a new level — one that now makes it thinkable to do what had been almost unthinkable only 24 hours before. She stepped back, assessed the situation and realized it would not be healthy to keep going.

On Wednesday, she pulled out of the all-around competition to focus on her mental well-being.

Scientists at Cambridge and Leeds have successfully reversed age-related memory loss in mice and say their discovery could lead to the development of genetic and drug treatments to prevent memory loss in people as they age.

The team have already identified a potential drug, licensed for human use, that can be taken by mouth and inhibits the formation of PNNs. When this compound is given to mice and rats it can restore memory in ageing and also improves recovery in spinal cord injury. The…

X-Rays Detected Behind Black Hole

Something is lurking behind black holes, and it’s x-rays, according to a new scientific breakthrough announced in a new study published in Nature.

“This is a really exciting result,” says Edward Cackett, an astronomer at Wayne State University who was not involved with the study. “Although we have seen the signature of x-ray echoes before, until now it has not been possible to separate out the echo that comes from behind the black hole and gets bent around into our line of sight. It will allow for better mapping of how things fall into black holes and how black holes bend the space time around them.”

Does Amazon’s Arbitration Cessation Welcome Lawsuits by Disgruntled Cust

Amazon just announced no more arbitration standards in settling disputes between itself and its customers, meaning customers can now sue them.  The move could signal their confidence in the state protecting their interests in the courts, or fear that their standards of arbitration might themselves be violations of the rights of its customers in a Bill-of-Rights-based republic.

Amazon’s recent email to customers declaring the end to binding arbitration.

For a major corporate declaration, it was relatively brief. And as short as the email was, it can be distilled further into three simple words: So sue us.

When Amazon recently declared that it was abandoning binding arbitration as a method of settling customer disputes — and in doing so, actually informing millions of people about an arbitration clause they didn’t know they’d agreed to in…

The quisling within Team Trump during Donald’s Predidency that is Jared Kushner is prepared to leave politics after serving to undermine his father-in-law for four years in political ways, eschewing the tough battles of politicking for the soft life of entitled investing, as he has announced plans to launch an investment firm, which might very well be the convenient vehicle of financial power through which his real allies, the DNC and the corpostate that supports it, to give him his monetary reward for the work he’s done over the past four years.

This, of course, is merely our opinion, though this latest move gives more credence to it.
