New Polls Favor Trump Over DeSantis, Biden

Two new polls have revealed the announcement by Ron DeSantis that he is running for President produced no bump, with DeSantis still behind by 34 points in the Republican Primary. In addition to that, another poll has revealed that Trump does better against Biden and Harris than DeSantis does.

The Harvard Harris poll shows that Trump is not only soundly beating DeSantis in the primary, but he is beating both Biden and Kamala Harris, while DeSantis is only even with both.

The Morning Consult poll showed Trump beating DeSantis 56 to 22 percent, which is not much of a change from the month before DeSantis’ announcement, where Trump led 57 to 21 percent, meaning DeSantis saw, at most, a 2 percent close on the Trump lead since he made his announcement he intends to run for President.

House Republicans Claim Victory in New Bill Raising Debt Ceiling

House Republicans are onboard with a new debt ceiling raise following what it claims are significant victories in exchange for delivering the votes to support the debt ceiling being raised.

In a joint statement by House Republican leaders, they said, “The Fiscal Responsibility Act does what is responsible for our children, what is possible in divided government, and what is required by our principles and promises. Only because of Republicans’ resolve did we achieve this transformative change to how Washington operates.”

The bill rescinds funds that have been allocated toward COVID, mandates student loan payments to resume in August, rescinds a portion of unused funding allocated toward the IRS, expands work requirements for certain welfare recipients, and tightens permitting processes under the National Environmental Policy Act.

The bill also caps discretionary spending for the next two years and includes a provision pushed by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) to force Congress into funding the government through 12 appropriations bills rather than one omnibus bill.

Erdogan Wins Close Run-Off Election

Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been declared the winner of a run-off election over the opposition party candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu. The final vote tally puts Erdogan at 52.14% over Kilicdaroglu at 47.86%, which mirrors the point difference between the two rivals during the general election when Erdogan failed to meet the 50 plus percent threshold.

Erdogan said of the win, “We are not the only winners, the winner is Turkey. The winner is all parts of our society, our democracy is the winner.”

His opponent said of the election that it was the “most unfair election period in our history.” One of the most obvious impediments to challenging Erdogan came from the passage of a new law criminalizing the spreading of “false information.” Using this law, Erdogan’s administration convinced Twitter to censor and/or remove opposition accounts and tweets, including Kilcdaroglu’s account.

The win by Erdogan assures Sweden will continue to face stiff opposition from Turkey in its efforts to become a member of NATO.

A study by a team of researchers from the University of Southern California (USC) claims Covid-19 lockdown policies have cost the U.S. economy $14 trillion. The study looked at the first 30 months of the pandemic, ending in the summer of 2022. Some of the hardest hit industries have been airline travel, indoor shopping, and in-store shopping, all of which decreased by more than 40 percent, with indoor dining taking the biggest hit, losing 65 percent of revenues during this 30-month period.

The elites who favor hate speech laws and sexualizing children as early and as often as possible are accusing Musk of hiring a woman to do a job that she’s doomed to fail in carrying out. One such person, a business professor at Santa Clara University who advocates for the Woketarian agenda, complained that “Her credentials are impeccable and she’s been extremely successful so far. But she’s also been in settings where her success was achievable. I mean no disrespect to her or to diminish her in the least. I just think that this is an impossible situation for basically anybody.”

Solomon Islands Rebuffs Japan While Protecting CCP

The Solomon Islands recently turned down an offer for Japan to conduct maritime security operations even as it moves to cancel a government official for refusing to take a bribe from the now-favored Chinese Communist Party. The government used the allegation that Japan is not dealing with the Fukishima wastewater problem. The government official who was ousted as premier of Malaiata after protesting the government’s decision to draw closer to the CCP said of the move, “It seems to be a normal thing for them to come to my office with huge money,” he said. “One time I closed down a Chinese shop in my province for not following the procedures to operate in the province, and they gave me lots of money, saying … ‘This money is for you and your children, to allow our business to continue, because we employ more of your people.’”

GOP Bill Would Stop Biden’s Plan to Use the Government to Get Out the DNC Vote

Efforts by the Biden administration to weaponize the government to become a DNC outreach resource are being challenged by a bill introduced in the U.S. House by Representative Claudia Tenney (R-NY) and the Senate by Senator Ted Budd (R-N.C.). The bill, called the “Promoting Free and Fair Elections Act” aims to stop Federal agencies from working with non-governmental organizations to conduct voter registration drives or voter mobilization activities. The bill is in response to the Biden order to federal agencies to “promote voter registration and voter participation (by) soliciting and facilitating approved, nonpartisan third-party organizations and state officials to provide voter registration services on agency premises.”
