Russian authorities have blocked access to exiled former tycoon Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s rights group website and news outlets, which have been critical of the Kremlin ahead of next month’s high-stakes elections.

For Ali Hedieloo, who makes wooden furniture in Iran’s capital, Instagram is more than just a surfeit of glossy images. Like an estimated 1 million other Iranians, it’s how he finds customers, as the app has exploded into a massive e-commerce service in the sanctions-hit country.
But now, the social media platform has come under threat. Iran moved last week toward further government restrictions on Instagram and other apps, as hardline…
In this process of transformation, electric tractors, robots and hydrogen fuel cell equipment are being looked at as alternatives to make agriculture sustainable. The role of farm equipment powered by alternative sources is getting bigger.
Apple appears willing to work with the Chinese Communist Party while it uses its resources to moralize to Americans at home, and throw its weight behind DNC-agenda items, over and over and over again. Meanwhile, overseas, Apple gets cozy with the Communist Party of China, the CCP, a party that will arrest you and potentially execute you for being a homosexual or someone who doubts the government.
Apple is working with more Chinese suppliers to produce its latest iPhone handsets, Japan’s Nikkei newspaper said on Wednesday, as a tech feud stemming from a trade war with the United States prompts Beijing to strengthen domestic firms.
Luxshare Precision Industry is set to build up to 3 percent of the upcoming iPhone 13 series, and two firms it acquired last year will supply key components and parts for the latest iPhone devices, the paper said, citing sources familiar with the matter.
Lens Tech will supply metal casings and Sunny Optical Tech Group will supply rear camera lenses, the paper said on its website, with BOE Tech Group also supplying components.
The expected correlation of infection rates in nations with high vaccine rates has so far not played out, as nations with the highest vaccine rates are also highest in infection rates.
A series of graphs compiled by Twitter user @holmenkollin (Corona Realism) document that “the most-vaccinated countries in the world are experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases, while the least-vaccinated countries are not.”
Iceland, Gibraltar, Malta, and Cyprus, for example, have vaccination rates of 90-98% and are experiencing surging virus cases. European countries with high vaccination rates are experiencing increasing infection rates, while those graphs show minimal infection rates among the countries with the lowest vaccination rates.
In Israel, where COVID cases are spiking despite a vaccination rate of 80%, the government is launching a campaign to inoculate its population with a third jab. The vaccines’ effectiveness may very well be wearing off after a few months, but doubling down on booster shots may prove counterproductive if something else is at work.
Bill Collier- The objective of the Islamic terror organizations that waged war on America from its inception, culminating in the 9-11 attacks on New York and DC, was to weaken the US and install Islamist regimes in as many places as possible. The effort to lure in the US to a ground fight on the home turf of the Islamists and bleed that country into weakness and retreat.
Meanwhile, the fear lest in fighting the terrorists we ourselves become intolerant has also led to a paradoxically more friendly and accepted, even protected, status for Islam in the US which has allowed for the ease of recruiting Americans themselves into the ranks of radical Islamism.
While the “war on terror” has spanned the globe and has turned its prying gaze inward toward innocent Americans, thanks to the misnamed “Patriot Act”, in no places was it more violent and concentrated than Iraq and Afghanistan. In these two lands, tens of thousands of US troops came to grips with the enemy and found him to be tough, merciless, and smart. The trauma experienced by hundreds of thousands of young Americans has left a massive scar on more than one generations: 20 years of constant war have meant that the children of the first soldiers who started this war were equally traumatized by it.
The enemy isn’t and wasn’t a tactic of lateral warfare, it was and remains an ideology and those who promote it, a form of imperialistic, totalitarian, and cultish Islam whose goal is world destruction in uhersing in the end of the age. Whether the particular brand is Shia, as from Iran, or Sunni, as from Afghanistan, the common belief is that the state should control the population in a totalitarian manner to produce loyal and faithful Muslims while rooting out any unfaithful persons and punishing them or killing them.
The even deeper root of the core ideology is totalitarian control by the state in service of the ideas and beliefs of the rulers. The fellow travelers of this enemy include right and left wing ideologues, ranging from the right-wing Putin to the left-wing Chinese Communist Party, and in the US includes some leading Democrats and far right antisemites. Totalitarians have a certain solidarity against those who reject totalitarianism on principle and without compromise.
The “war on terror” became an authoritarian overstep both at home and abroad by a government that was becoming increasingly corrupted by parochial self-interest, moral depravity, and greed. The lust for power and control, almost sexual in its feeling, began to infect rank and file and topmost political and corporate leaders who, through the Patriot Act, were less and less accountable to anyone but their own whims. The US became an authoritarian and abusive occupation force whose reign was as abusive to average people as the Islamic totalitarians they had temporarily displaced.
A recent initiative announced by the Biden Administration against “domestic terrorism” seems to see US forces coming home even as all the powers of the Patriot Act which were focused on Islamic terror are focused on opponents, whether of the left or right, of the Democratic Party. The war on terror has been lost and is now morphing into a war on freedom in the name of a new war on “domestic terrorism.”
The loss of this war is seen in the precipitous withdrawal of the US from the heartlands of Islamic Totalitariamism, leaving the field to the likes of the Taliban and Iran. While the Freedomist has never supported this foreign adventurism, the manner of the withdrawal exposes the true depth of the defeat. Put simply, the fields of battle are now left to the Islamic totalitarians whom the US tried to defeat.
With all our military might and modern technology, the US was unable to subdue the enemy or win the population over to a more enlightened way. Small cells and bands of under-armed and untrained irregular forces bled out the US and its allies through a thousand cuts every day. Every “battle” saw the enemy leave the field, but the real strategy wasn’t to occupy lands the US could not enter, the enemy became like water, flowing away from strong force pouring into the surrounding population, who remained sympathetic to them and hostile to the Americans.
The count of dead was not like other wars, mostly because of advances is battlefield medicine. But the toll on the psychology of the troops in these far-flung fields became ever more immense. The cost of materials and supplies, and of “nation building” efforts, has accounted for almost $4 trillion dollars. This comes out to around $12,200 for every single human being living in the United States.
The enemy did not have overt support from major powers, like the Viet Cong did in our last lost war. True, some powers did back the enemy, sporadically, and Iran certainly did all it could, but if the US had wanted to punish these powers, it could have without too much risk to itself.
The constant fighting in essentially hit and run ambushes with plenty of IED’s and terrorist attacks kept US forces on constant guard, a psychological burden few can endure without lasting effects, and it caused many injuries and deaths.
The enemy won on three fronts:
1. Radical Islamic ideology is protected and promoted in the US itself and the overall atmosphere for Islamic recruitment in the US is far more favorable than it has ever been
2. US forces have left the field to the enemy who is now re-occupying ground and gainig global recognition for having defeated “the great satan”
3. The “war on terror” has turned inward and now the enemy of the Islamic totalitarians is itself being torn apart by the growing totalitarianism of its ruling class
After 20 years, the US has lost the war on terror. Totalitarian Islamic ideology is on the march abroad, free to recruit within the US, and content in the knowledge Americans are now the target of the “Patriot Act”, not them!
We lost this war as soon as we decided to wage war on a tactic, liberate people who didn’t want to liberate themselves, and resort to the same kinds of totalitarian methods as our enemies.
PGC – The battle for supremacy is long from over among the most powerful in our lands, and in our time they come from two primary sources of real power, the halls of the mega international corporations and the halls of the most powerful governments of the world.
The corporate international powerbase is something never before seen in human history, and it offers those seeking controlling power maybe better ways to get there than the state model did, yet their power relies in large part on the willingness of the host countries to protect them from violent action should the people it serves ever come to such a point in thie relationship with it.
We are seeing these Vehicles of Power dance around each other, even as they work together in certain areas, in areas in which they both see competition being eliminated. Even as Amazon, for instance, is getting hit by a fine of nearly $1 billion by the EU, it will still work with the EU to assure no new competition to its model gets to form, or exist long after it forms. In exchange, the EU gets data as well, intelligence.
I don’t need the papers to prove my point, just a simple understanding of the reality of power to deduce the nature of the dance we are seeing going on around the world.
Amazon operates at levels that affects the very security of nation-states now. Imagine what would happen in America, for instance, if Amazon deliveries just suddenly stopped. It would cause quite a stumble in the flow of commerce.
For all one can imagine, this fine thing was built into the Amazon model well in advance and everyone knew well ahead of time the tribute they would offer to continue to co-exist in this uneasy alliance, where both sides are looking for ways to secure their model as being the more signficiant source of real power in a land that submits to its governing authority claims.
Amazon.com Inc has been hit with a record $886.6 million (746 million euros) European Union fine for processing personal data in violation of the bloc’s GDPR rules, as privacy regulators take a more aggressive position on enforcement.
The Luxembourg National Commission for Data Protection (CNPD) imposed the fine on Amazon in a July 16 decision, the company disclosed in a regulatory filing on Friday.
Amazon will appeal the fine, according to a company spokesperson. The e-commerce…
Kim Jung Un’s plan to use emergency military rice surplus to feed the people at a time of crisis was met with skepticism from a North Korean Major General.
When discussing the plan with a collegue, the Major General called the plan “unrealistic” and suggested it could end up in a ‘bloodbath.”
For that, Kim Jung Un had the man killed, performing a sort of mini-bloodbath as if to portend the efficacy of the Major General’s prophetic ‘skills.’
A North Korean major general was court-martialed and shot dead on July 18, according to a report in Daily NK. Daily NK, a South Korean publication covering events on the northern side of the Military Demarcation Line, said they had been informed by a source about the execution.
The unnamed major general, who was previously in charge of the logistics headquarters at Training Camp 815, had said plans to open military stores of rice for public consumption were “unrealistic” and “an order…
When the Chinese State wants its corporate extensions to modify their market practices in some significant way, it has a number of ways to go about doing this, but, for the sake of the preservation of the image of the benevolent dictator, the state generally chooses to send those message as gently as possible, in a public way.
Turns out, the best way to communicate to your government extension, which is what these corporations within China really are, is to simply create news shows and broadcast them across the lands and monitor anyone who tries to do the same thing but iwithout state approval.
Can’t have anyone expressing unorthodox views to the public, that’s the state’s job, responsibility, nay, right, and its right alone.
When the State saw that one of its corporate giants was producing a product that was not producing the desred effects of the state, they just create stories that broadcast this new directive in the form of concerns expressed by pretty newscasters in controlled and highly manipulated frames.
The Chinese State Media told Tencent that their games are spiritual opium and electronic drugs and need to be looked into. The company quickly issued a statement committing to the new direction, both of which caused the shares to stumble abraod.
Investors now realize they hold worthless paper should the centralized personality of Chairman Xi decide to declare whatever must be declared through their state-controlled news outliet whatever narrative gets the message across without making the state look like the heavy-handed thug it really is.
It should be noted the context of the word opium being selected, as there were a series of wars, called the Opium Wars, in the mid 1800s fought against the British by the Chinese, who were fighting the Brits’ efforts to open up China markets to grow and sell opium, to sell domestically as well as imports. Chairman Xi chose his words very well.
Shares in China’s biggest online gaming companies slumped after state media branded their products “spiritual opium” and compared them to “electronic drugs”.
The criticism – as reported by Reuters news agency – has stoked concerns that the online gaming sector will be the next to receive unwanted attention from Beijing’s regulators, following a crackdown on tech giants in the country.
Tencent’s stock tumbled by more than 10% in morning…
