Two Republicans on the House Oversight Committee are requesting the Pentagon detail its plans to recover or destroy billions of dollars worth of U.S weapons now in the hands of Taliban fighters following the fall of Afghan national security forces.

“As a direct result of the Biden Administration’s poorly planned and executed U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Taliban is now armed with a significant arsenal of U.S.-made weaponry. Worse, it would appear the Biden Administration has no clue what or how many weapon platforms are now owned and operated by the Taliban,” the GOP lawmakers wrote in a letter shared exclusively with The Hill on Monday.

Excerpt:

UN agencies have warned of food shortages to Afghanistan as early as September without urgent aid funding, as it emerged first aid supplies, including surgical equipment and severe malnutrition kits, were stuck due to restrictions at Kabul airport.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Monday the closure of the airport to commercial flights has held up key deliveries.

The World Food Programme (WFP), which brings in supplies by road, said it was getting food through via four different supply routes for the moment, but could start running out of food by next month.

Andrew Patterson, the WFP’s deputy country director in Afghanistan, said they were transporting food through humanitarian crossings, including from Uzbekistan, though which 50% of supplies arrived, as well as via Pakistan and Turkmenistan.

“Winter is coming. We are going into the lean season and many Afghan roads will be covered in snow. We need to get the food into our warehouses where it needs to be distributed,”…

Son of Legendary Mujahideen Commando Resists Taliban in the Panjshir Valley

PGC – A last remnant of Taliban resistance in Afghanistan remains in the Panjshir Valley, in the Northeastern regiion of the embattled country.  A legend in his own right, Ahmad Massoud, the leader of what the Taliban themselves refer to as the Panjshir state, is also the son of a legendary mujahideen Fighter and Commando Ahmad Shah Massoud, who was assassinated just before the successful 9/11 assault on America led by Osama Bin Laden.

The American military appears not to be a factor in the fate of this holdout area within Afghaanistan that has managed to muster a resistance force of some 9.000 fighters peppered throughout the mountains that catacomb the valley the Taliban must walk into and claim.

Afghanistan Crisis: Panjshir, north of Kabul, is long known as an anti-Taliban bastion.

Dubai:

The Taliban said on Sunday that “hundreds” of its fighters were heading to the Panjshir Valley, one of the few parts of Afghanistan not yet controlled by the group.

Since the Taliban overran Afghanistan, flickers of resistance have begun to emerge with some ex-government troops gathering in the Panjshir, north of Kabul, long known as an anti-Taliban bastion.

“Hundreds of Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate are heading towards the state of Panjshir to control it, after local state officials refused to hand it over peacefully,” the group wrote on its Arabic Twitter account.

Since the Taliban took control of the country following a lightning charge into the capital Kabul, thousands of people have made their way to Panjshir, according to a spokesman for anti-Taliban forces.

In Panjshir, Ahmad Massoud, the son of legendary mujahideen commander Ahmad Shah Massoud who was assassinated by Al-Qaeda two days before the September 11, 2001 attacks, has sought to assemble a force of around 9,000 people to counter the terrorists, the spokesman, Ali Maisam Nazary, told AFP.

Chinese State News Gets Preferential Treatment from Our

PGC – China’s state news media outlets are clearly dedicated to spreading misinformation on a daily basis that serves the interests of one man, Chairman Xi, the absolute fascistic dictator of China and head of the Chinese Communist Party, the big brother of the American Democrat National Committee.  These organizations are given free reigh on American social media platforms, operated, owned, and run by human beings who openly hate America, the Bill of Rights, and liberty in general.  These platforms regularly remove American citizens from their platforms for allegedly spreading misinformation while they continue to allow an enemy of the American people, the CCP (DNC ally and inspiration), to spread disinformation on their platform designed to destroy the American democratic republic limited by a bill-of-rights-based constitution.

They win because they have allies in our boardrooms, not because they’re clever.  They’re jsut really good at offering bribes, like access to a massive money-making market in exchange for acting more in line with the CCP than our own Bill of Rights.

Author’s Note: This is the second part of a two-part article series in China Brief exploring methods by which Xinhua and other Chinese state-owned media organizations are seeking greater presence and influence for their propaganda material in English-language online media. The first article examined recent examples of “advertorial” advertising, in which Xinhua content has been hosted on the websites and promoted in the e-mail advertising of prominent English-language news and foreign affairs publications (China Brief, April 12).

Introduction

Xinhua, the state news agency of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), serves a role very different from that of its nominal counterparts in democratic states, such as Britain’s BBC, Germany’s Deutsche Welle, or Taiwan’s Central News Agency. Xinhua (新华 or “New China”) functions as the official mouthpiece of China’s ruling party: Chinese Communist Party (CCP) General Secretary Xi Jinping, reinforcing a long-standing…

BRUSSELS (AP) — The European Union has no immediate plans to recognize the Taliban after their sweeping victory in Afghanistan but will talk with the militants to ensure that European citizens and Afghans who have worked with the EU can leave safely, the bloc’s top diplomat said Tuesday.

Speaking after leading emergency talks among the EU’s foreign ministers, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell also underlined the importance of opening talks with the Taliban to help prevent a new exodus of refugees as a humanitarian crisis unfolds in the conflict-ravaged country.

“We have to get in touch with the authorities in Kabul, whatever they are. The Taliban have won the war, so we will have to talk with them,” Borrell told reporters. “This dialogue will also have to focus on the means to prevent the return of foreign terrorists.”

“It’s not a matter of official recognition, it’s a matter of dealing with” the Taliban, Borrell said.

A “Woke” Military Is A BROKE Military
Has the totalitarian rainbow authoritarianism flag replaced the American flag in the US Military?

The US Military have gone woke. The alt-gendered rainbow authoritarianism that demands approval and applause, and pressures you to participate to prove your wokeness, and all the deconstructionist mythology aimed at white-shaming and American-bashing have become the path to advancement for higher rank. In short, our Military is controlled now by a woke cesspool of would-be tyrants, petty-minded higher ranks whose main passion isn’t freedom and warfighting but, rather, pronoun usage and rainbow flags.

The same general Milley who wants to understand “white rage” and pushes the neocommunist authoritarianism of so-called “Critical Race Theory ” and who hates everyone who rejects this totalitarian ideology can’t even figure out why and how the Afghan government collapsed or why withdrawing air and intelligence support to the Afghan military might have had something to do with it. Our military is woke and now it is being broke, its leadership is too focused on “diversity training” designed to force ideological heterodoxy to actually fulfill their oath or to be effective at warfighting.

Just how the rank and file feel about all this, being encumbered with constant leftwing totalitarian indoctrination instead of training to fight or being encouraged to love and respect this country and our Constitution, is not readily known. One suspects they are very much upset about this, but too afraid to speak out, but oje fears the new generation of military men and women may in fact be just as woke and morally/intellectually broke as their officers.

A real divide between the military and the people, where the military has become an adjunct of the totalitarian aims of the Democratic Party and their GOP crony collaborators, is dangerous and unfortunate, if it happens. There is no reason to believe this is happening or that our fine young men and women in uniform aren’t as repulsed by this alt-gendered, rainbow fascist agit-prop as most other decent and thinking human beings.

What is happening however can only either lead to severe morale problems as the anger at the general/flag level officer corps grows, because officers who aren’t woke don’t advance in rank, or, worse, the purging of the ranks of all save fellow woke neocommunist authoritarians.

What we are seeing in Afghanistan is that our woke-led armed forces, at the flag level, cannot plan or execute anything better than the debacle unfolding in Afghanistan. It is a disgrace on a mammoth scale, it has left thousands of Americans and our friends in Afghanistan is a Taliban kill zone. General Millie is too busy hunting for white supremacists, fighting climate change, and shoving his rainbow flag down the throat of rank and file to be able to plan or lead any operation.

None of this totalitarian agit prop belongs in the military. It will break its warfighting capability, it will possibly make it an arm of the authoritarian Democratic Party, and it will sunder the sacred bond between our armed forces and the people. What the Democratic Party leaders are doing to the Military is a gross miscarriage of justice and does violence to the very oath every member of the military takes.

How Myanmar’s youth are preparing for civil war

Tens of thousands of Myanmar citizens have also fled across its borders to Thailand and India to escape fighting between militias and the Tatmadaw.

“We have seen a proliferation on two fronts, both the number of people under arms and the number of Myanmar citizens, including those from the Bamar and the cities, heading to the frontier regions to get training,” explains Gregory Poling, Senior Fellow for Southeast Asia at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

“The opposition to the Tatmadaw has been far more sustained than most expected and there are daily reports of bomb blasts and ambushes of Tatmadaw figures in major cities. The country is absolutely in a civil war, which is just intensifying.”

Colonel Solomon, 57, is a CNF leader in Camp Victoria. He has fought against the Tatmadaw for 30 years but says ongoing recruitment is unprecedented, with 30 people arriving in the camp daily.

“It’s not just the youth, it’s not just from across Chin state, it is…

Kabul’s Fall Marks End of

As the Taliban enter the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul, it marks the end of  a 20 year war, what history most likely will look back at as a singular failure and waste of resources for the United Statesn of America.  Perhapss history might also observe how the war served to mostly perpetuate the boogeyman, or scapegoat back home, the Islamo-Fascist (a very real  threat to any and all, but not so all-powerful and pervasive as we were sold they were back in the early years after 9/11).  Perhaps history might also note how it served as a proving ground for the laatest lethal tech, with Afghanis serving as shooting pidgeons.  Perhaps.

The Taliban fanned out across the capital, and a group of fighters entered the presidential palace in Kabul. Suhail Shaheen, a Taliban spokesman and negotiator, told The Associated Press that the militants would hold talks in the coming days aimed at forming an “open, inclusive Islamic government.”

A Taliban official earlier said the group would announce the creation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan from the palace, but those plans appeared to be on hold. That was the name of the country under Taliban rule before the militants were ousted by U.S.-led forces after the 9/11 attacks. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief the media.
