Progressivism has no god, so they must engineer a heaven on earth, a Utopian Collective where their god is the supreme reasoning power of man himself, the maker of realities.
Freedomism is founded in Judeo-Christian values, where there is no Utopian Collective, only the rights and responsibilities of citizens to practice the virtues of liberty revealed to us through scriptures, but innate in us all.
For the Progressive, rights and responsibilities are born from reason, man’s evolving intellectual perfection. The end goal is the perfection of the species itself, the collectivist whole evolving towards Utopia for ‘the good of the whole’.
For the Freedomists, rights and responsibilities are innate at birth, given to us by divine providence and not by the evolving intellectual perfection of man’s capacity to reason. Our ‘end goal’ is the continued perpetuation of the liberty of individuals to discover for themselves their individual expressions, their freely-chosen, uncoerced ‘association expressions’ of the natural rights inherit in all and not rationally created.
Progressives have a theoretical end- Utopia. Freedomists have no theoretical end. The battle for the natural rights of individuals will perpetuate so long as man exists, for as long as man exists, godlessness will exist. And godlessness is at the root of all Utopian dreamers. And Utopia, be it an individual’s pursuit of the perfection of their own power or a collectivist dream of a perfect society, is at the root of all state oppression.
Since Adam and Eve, man has been trying to be God, and so long as he tries to be God he will continue to fight for the oppression of others, in the name of HIS constructed Utopia, that he might guarantee or assure a Utopia that only God can deliver to us. In many instances, this wanna-be God will even invoke the name of God to justify his godless actions (as has happened, sadly, throughout the centuries).
In the case of most progressives (sans the so-called ‘Christian’ progressive, which is an oxymoron), the veil of God’s Word (misrepresented and misapplied) is thankfully removed so that we can see, to some degree, the little person behind the curtain manipulating reality to sound as if they are, in fact, a god.
The Bill of Rights was a statement of faith in the fruit of individual liberty. The Progressive Bill of Rights is a statement of fear of the fruit of individual liberty. The Bill of Rights protects us from government but not from our own potential failures. The Progressive Bill of Rights protects us from failure but not from our own government (and so, in the end, it fails to protect us from failure because our government is free to make us fail if we fail to fit into its collectivist definition of ‘citizen’).
The Bill of Rights relies on individuals being free to choose and live virtue. The Progressive Bill of Rights relies on coercion to demand conformity to their concept of the collectivist virtue. The Bill of Rights is built on a need to be free to live out our faith, or not live out a faith at all. The Progressive Bill of Rights coerces us to follow a faith in collectivist man and the leaders of the evolving Collectivist expression of man’s perfection.
The Bill of Rights guarantees us the right to pursue happiness as we define happiness. The Progressive Bill of Rights guarantees a happiness defined by the State.
Where do you stand? With the Individual and his or her right to fail? Or with the collective and their Utopian ideal of guaranteeing ‘success’, but success as defined by their leaders for the good of the whole?
In other words, are you a Freedomist or a Progressive?
