Is the reason you don’t attend local church services, a fear of being hurt again? If you knew you would be safe from such pain, would you go back? In the last five years these are the folks God has had me council to the most. Many of the people haven’t left their faith, but only the buildings that originated their pain. While many others harbor the pain and due to being young in the faith attribute that sorrow to have come from God. If I had to guess I would say that 97 percent of the hurt caused in the churches today does not come from the conviction of God, but rather what seems to be self righteous Pharisees that have zero spiritual desertion what so ever and are trying to play Christ with no real knowledge of him. These words may offend some, but in order to heal the wounds surrounding us, we often have to focus on the pain and what caused it. There are many even in our town that love the Lord, but fear going to church due to one reason or another. These people are shunned as leaving their church, or lacking a love for God, when this is furthest from the truth, as I said before that they have not left “the church” but only a building and a particular body. When a member of their flock was hurt and was separated from the rest, did the Sheppard go after that lost sheep, or not? If a member of the flocked sinned was it dealt with correctly or did the church simply do more harm? I sadly believe that the problem lies partially with many in our local church bodies’ simply playing church not realizing or caring about the long term effect they are having on many. All these folks want is truth, love and sincerity. Has the spirit of the Lord left many of our churches? Has many of our churches forgotten that they follow Christ? Has progress, modern technology and the love for money forced God to turn his back? Let me ask this question. One day in a local church service, a man comes in wearing a burlap sack; he is dirty, smelly and hasn’t had a hair cut in years. He comes in during the service and shouts “I have a word from the Lord” Now in modern society this man would most likely be a bum or even thought of as a nut, right? How many folks in the church would want to hear the words the man had to speak? Would the others deny him solely based on visual impression? In easy terms, would we as Christians believe this man was from God, or do we expect suit and tie only? Have we lost many blessings due to our expectations of what God and the church should be, and not what Christ would have it to be? Remember back now to John the Baptist, The man that Baptized the Son of God. This problem is severe and is growing daily. We as Christians must understand that not everyone that calls themselves a Christian actually is one. We must know that Satan has many of what I call copy-cat Christian’s .They may show some Christianity on the outside, but within them is only darkness. Their intent is to break your spirit and to cause you to turn from God. Don’t blame God for the sins of man. Where ever you are today know that God loves you, and would never hurt you. Today is a day of healing between you and the Lord. This site is normally reserved for Freedom-related news, opinions, editorials, reports. Today, though, I want to proclaim to the world a miracle before it happens, not by my words, but a belief in Jesus Christ, our savior, the focus of my life, the reason why we do the work we do. A little girl in North Central Pa fell down a couple of days ago and hit her head. She was taken to the hospital today after experiencing ‘concussion-like’ symptoms. After they looked at her, with cat scans and the like, they determined she had a fractured skull and bleeding in her brain. They have immediately rushed her to another hospital that specializes in these types of cases by helicopter. I am believing in a miracle, proclaiming a miracle as God put it in my heart to do, through all media at my disposal, through the written word and through word of mouth to anyone I can reach, that this little girl, Haley, will be healed, her skull will be set right. All of the doctors, all of the family members will know it was Christ that healed this little girl. I pray this in the name of Jesus, our savior, who tells us we will do the works he has done, we will move mountains if we believe and if we call on works, on miracles to glorify his name. I ask everyone who reads this to agree with me in this miracle, that Haley will be healed and her healing will testify to the power and glory of Christ to all who see this miracle. Amen Paul G Collier

In the quiet heart is where God does His most exquisite work… He renews and transforms us to be more like Christ. There is no better service than being a living sacrifice to Almighty God! Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11: 28-30 My heart sings every time it hears Jesus’ invitation to come to Him. He frees; I no longer have to toil and struggle through the spiritual meaningless of my old life. Our purpose in this life… the thing God has called each of separately to accomplish, will not be a result of ourselves. Let me say that another way… Only God Himself can do the work He assigns to His children. I know you’ve heard “He will bring you through it if He brought you to it.” Do you believe that? Do you really believe that? I’m writing about this to encourage many people who feel like life has passed them by… like they’ve been made to sit on the sidelines as they watch the rest of the world getting on with their lives. I’ve felt that way many times, but let me tell you that the most important thing is learning how to rest in Jesus. That’s where you are going to absorb the power you need to live and do your life’s work. You won’t get any anointed power on the porch – if you don’t spend time at the altar! Do you know what I mean? The way to let God do His work is to fully abide in Christ. So not always the busiest soul best serves, but he who rests upon God’s Word. The work you end up doing will have more depth and power, that’s been my experience. So a word to us all… “Be still and know I am God.” Psalm 46: 10
Continue Reading →It has been almost 7 years since my father died. It seems like forever and it seems like it was only days or weeks ago. Here, at 51 years of age, I face the added change this year of gaining a grandson. It is our first grandchild. I look backward to the birth of the child that is now the mother. I was 24. My dad was 52. In life, I am in a situation not far different from what he experienced. It was only a few months later that he lost his job. He had a young son still at home and at least three daughters living at home because of the economy of the day. My wife and I returned to the area of my parents after the birth of our first child with anticipation of a job that had been offered in New York State. Alas, it was not to be. Here I am, in a place where I thought work would be easily available. Alas, it did not happen. We have spent nearly this entire calendar year without real employment. I have had a variety of small jobs, and I worked part-time and was trained by a friend for work in his company as a contracted writer. That ended in May or early June of this year. My dad was an example for me. In the midst of the anguish of lost job and no or little income, he stood steady, trusting that his God would provide. I have faltered in that. I have found that when I reach the eleventh hour and fifty-ninth minute and fifty-nine seconds, I dispair. I wonder, did Dad dispair? So often, we are reminded by preachers or by friends of Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac. We have them held up to us as prime examples as those who did not give up; who did not despair. We are told of Abel, of Enoch, Noah, Sarah, Joseph, Moses… It is interesting that in all of these with the exception of Abel, Enoch, and Joseph, we also see their failures. We are shown the failures of David and of Samuel. How often were these failures tied to the passage of time and the possible despair of the moment? When Sarah offered her maid to Abraham, and he accepted, was it an indication that they both just figured that the time had come for them to ‘do all they could do’ also? Was Abraham’s acceptance tied to just a lustful desire for another woman? Or was it tied to a sense of despair that the promise was not forthcoming? When David decided to bring the Ark back from the Philistines without following the direction of God, was he just too frustrated with the red-tape that surrounded the holy place of God? And Moses, in his anger at the almost forty years of dealing with the childish complaints of the people he led, when he struck the rock he was to speak to for the provision of water, did he just decide to ‘do it his own way’? There is Samson, and the later years of Gideon, the failures of Eli, and the list goes on and on. Why do we have these stories? Why don’t we just see the winner’s moments? The days of perfect story ending? The winning moment of Ehud when he ran his hand clear into the fat of the king when he killed him with the forbidden sword. Gideon’s winning moment when the jars that hid the torches were trashed and the enemy was so scared they ran off or died at the hand of their fellow soldiers in their fear and disorder? The winning moment of David knocking Goliath to the ground and severing his head? The triumph of Moses when he put out his hand and watched the waters of the Red Sea crash down around and over the armies of Egypt? Instead, we learn also that Abraham, not once- but twice!- lied to a king in regard to who his wife really was. And it became a family tradition when Isaac followed in his footsteps. David, who saw massive victories and had men follow him in the most adverse of times, failed miserably and stole the wife of one of his most faithful citizens. Eli who could not control his own sons, and Samuel- who was the spokesperson of God delivering the news to Eli of what was to come- who had the same problem. Peter, of whom Jesus said “upon this rock I will build my church’, denied he ever knew Jesus not once, but THREE times! In Hebrews, when all of these men are held before us as example, we need to know it isn’t just because of their winning moments in time that they are known to us. These men also had their times of questioning. They had their times of wondering, as the years went by, ‘did God really mean that?’. For me, as the years pass, I find that I wonder more of my dad’s story. I know he held firm. But he also had to have had his days, wondering…’where are you God?’….But the

Well, we do have such a bank…time. Every morning it credits us with 86,400 seconds. Every night it rules off as “lost” whatever we have failed to use toward good purposes. It carries over no balances and allows no overdrafts. We can’t hoard it, save it, store it, loan it or invest it. We can only use it as it arrives and leaves. Here’s a story that drives the point home. From First Thing Every Morning… Arthur Berry was described by Time Magazine as “the slickest second-story man in the East,” truly one of the most famous jewel thieves of all times. In his years of crime, he committed as many as 150 burglaries and stole jewels valued between $5 and $10 million. He seldom robbed from anyone not listed in the Social Register and often did his work in a tuxedo. On an occasion or two, when caught in the act of a crime by a victim, he charmed his way out of being reported to the police. Like most people who engage in a life of crime, he was eventually caught, convicted and served 25 years in prison for his crimes. Following his release, he worked as a counterman in a roadside restaurant on the East Coast for $50 a week. A newspaper reporter found him and interviewed him about his life. After telling about the thrilling episodes of his life he came to the conclusion of the interview saying, “I am not good at morals. But early in my life I was intelligent and clever, and I got along well with people. I think I could have made something of my life, but I didn’t. So when you write the story of my life, when you tell people about all the burglaries, don’t leave out the biggest one of all… Don’t just tell them I robbed Jesse Livermore, the Wall Street Baron or the cousin of the King of England…” “You tell them Arthur Berry robbed Arthur Berry.” Here are six terrific truths about time: First: Nobody can manage time. But we can manage those things that take up our time. Second: Time is expensive. As a matter of fact, 80 percent of our day is spent on those things that only bring us two percent of our results. Third: Time is perishable. It cannot be saved for later use. Fourth: Time is measurable. Everybody has the same amount of time…pauper or king. It is not how much time we have; it is how much we use. Fifth: Time is irreplaceable. We never make back time once it is gone. Sixth: Time is a priority. We have enough time for anything in the world, so long as it ranks high enough among our priorities. by Lewis Timberlake http://store.inspiredfaith.com/articles/welcome.htm Have a great day! Mark

All I want to do is to serve Him whole heartily, though I am forced to be physically separated from my brothers and sisters in body of Christ. All I seem to be ‘allowed’ to do is go to Dr. appointments, and occasionally do I get to go to church! I feel like a caged bird, a prisoner in my own body, a captive to my circumstances. Why God, Why this? How long, O God?” Sound familiar? Today, I am speaking to my fellow brothers and sisters who are confined in some way. Your isolation is probably physical but it may be mental or emotional. It’s one thing to be able to withstand intensive work or effort, coupled with severe suffering… but we can totally break down if we have to endure long periods, even years of solitary confinement! Let’s look at the life of the apostle Paul. He withstood tests that came while being active in his service to Christ. But he also withstood the tests of solitude the many occasions that he was imprisoned. Have you noticed how he handled it? He shows us a new level of existence in this thing called life… he shows us how to look over the walls of our prison and over the heads of our enemies – take a look at how he signed his letters… not as the prisoner of Festus, nor of Caesar, not the injured party of the Sanhedrin, but as “A prisoner for the Lord.” Paul saw the hands of God at work. Yeah, even though he was forced from doing the missionary work he loved, he turned prison into a new pulpit. From his place of bondage and dark shadows arose some of the most precious messages of light we have today. Also think of the many saints who have followed in the footsteps of Paul… Taken aside by Jesus, To feel the touch of His hand; To rest for a while in the shadow Of the Rock in a weary land. Taken aside by Jesus, In the loneliness dark and drear, Where no other comfort may reach me, Than His voice to my heart so dear. Taken aside by Jesus, To be quite alone with Him, To hear His wonderful tones of love ‘Mid the silence and shadows dim. Taken aside by Jesus, Shall I resist the desert place, When I hear as I never heard before, And see Him “face to face?” ~ S.C. Rees
