Two Thirds of Americans Now Fear Speaking Openly About Their Beliefs

A recent Rasmussen Poll reveals that 66% of Americans are now afraid to freely speak their minds.  And why wouldn’t they be?  What with punching Nazis, throwing commies out of Helicopters, destroying people’s lives and businesses over thoughts, or because they didn’t bake a cake for some protected class of people, no wonder they are afraid.  And as that fear goes, the bad thoughts, the “dangerous” thoughts will go underground, festering, growing, fomenting, waiting for the next opportunity to come out.  And when it does come out, it won’t come out with words, or simple refusal to do business with someone, it will come out violently. So to all of you, no matter your beliefs, who are contributing to the culture of fear for expressing ideas that someone believes warrants your very life being harmed, directly, thanks, thanks for driving bad thoughts underground.  Thanks for allowing hate and fear to fester under the surface, where it can be fed, unchecked, by critical, but non-violent voices. from http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/aug/22/inside-the-beltway-republican-party-gets-some-maga/ Is the nation switching from the land of the free and the home of the brave — to the land of the silent, and the home of the reluctant? Citizens are wary of speaking their minds, a new poll suggests. Many Americans are opting to stay quiet in an intensified culture of political correctness fostered by activism and often biased media coverage....

MWD explains why, even though Christopher Cantwell is a horrible person…. (and MWD was saying that years before Cantwell was racist), ….Cantwell is a horrible person, but he and those like him should be able to speak freely, gather in public, not be shut out of the Internet, and should get a fair trial if accused of a crime. James and Darrell talk about that and other slippery soaps, (Including Radical Agenda episode 343) and Budweiser...

Illinois To Create Gender Price Control Inspectors in Name of “Equality”

Illinois passes gender price control legislation So apparently there was a comprehensive, purely scientific, purely objective study conducted by New York City’s Department of Consumer Affairs back in 2015.  The study claims to have compared about 800 products to see the differences between the pricing for products aimed at women and girls and products aimed at men and boys.  Well, the study showed there was a devastating 7 percent difference between the prices. This study maybe shoulda coulda woulda died the death of obscurity given the nature of its claims of “similar” products with little regard to whether those products were exactly the same, or taking into consideration such things as demand for the women and girls’ products versus demand for the men’s and boys’ products.  But….. A feminist leftist State Senator from the fine state of Illinois, the same state that gave us Abe Lincoln, the “well if I have to free the slaves to keep the South from breaking up with me, ok” President of Civil War fame, introduced legislation that would amend an existing law.  Well, here, here is the actual bill that (spoiler alert) became law after Republican Governor Bruce Rauner signed the legislation: “Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. Provides that it is not unlawful to differentiate prices for services based upon factors including, but not limited to, time, difficulty, cost...

DC Judge Approves Broad Warrant for User Info from Political Site, But Assures Us the “Innocent” Users Are “Safe”

A DC Superior Court Judge has ruled that DreamHost, a webhosting company, must turn over its data to “help” the Trump administration figure out who participated in the protests on inauguration day.  DreamHost is the web hosting company used by the website disruptj20.org.  The judge ruled that the company must hand over all data that shows who visited the website.  As would be predicted, the folks on the left have suddenly found concern for muh rights to privacies while the folks on the right have conveniently forgotten such pesky things as rights. The ruling, if upheld by the Supreme Court (which I have little doubt this is headed to), could set yet another in a long string of ‘dangerous precedents” of government invasion of privacy in the name of muh securities. Don’t worry, though, the judge assures us he will make sure the gubmint doesn’t capture any data from “innocent” users, only the data from people the government deems as being not innocent.  Trust me, I’m with the government and all I want is your browsing history.  Sounds not creepy at all. from msn.com D.C. judge approves government warrant for data from anti-Trump website A District of Columbia Superior Court judge on Thursday approved a government warrant seeking data from an anti-Trump website related to Inauguration Day protests, but he added protections to safeguard “innocent users.” Chief Judge Robert...

Elon Musk Begs UN To Regulate Robots Before They Kill Us All

Elon Musk is a brilliant innovator who is also equally brilliant at manipulating government guns to help him do what the free market would not allow him to do.  While he is busy securing hundreds of millions of dollars of government subsidies, he’s also busy raising the specter of Skynet to attempt to scare government (this time the world government known as the UN) to ban “lethal autonomous weapons.”  The media might couch this as a brave, brilliant man sounding a needed alarm, but I for one would call this alarmism aimed at shutting down current and potential future competitors. A “ban” by the UN will effectively allow the state, which already has a monopoly on power, to go after any non-state actor that might be developing these tools, while it will do nothing to stop the ‘state’ from secretly continuing to develop these tools, to be used against other states, and even against their own ‘citizens.’ from thelibertarianrepublic.com Tesla CEO Elon Musk and 115 other tech leaders collectively announced Sunday they sent a letter to the United Nations asking it to ban “killer robots,” formally known as lethal autonomous weapons. The coalition signed the open message to urge the international governing body to address the innate implications of such advanced technology, specifically its use on the battlefield, by effectively outlawing it. “Lethal autonomous weapons threaten to become the third...

Charlottesville Mayor Flees Hostile Town Hall After They Start Chanting “Blood on Your Hands”

The Mayor of Charlottesville may have been intentionally creating an opportunity for violence, some people believe.  They let him know just how strongly they believed that at a recent Town Hall meeting when they chanted “Blood on your Hands” at the estranged Mayor.  Mind you, these aren’t alt righters or conservatives, these are the same people that were part of the counter protest to the so-called “Unite the Right Rally” organized by mostly alt right organization.  Below is a video of the Town Hall Meeting. from thelibertarianrepublic.com ‘Blood On Your Hands’ Charlottesville Mayor Flees As Protesters Storm Town Hall [VIDEO] Signer, Vice Mayor Wes Bellamy, and three council members “fled” the meeting, while a group carrying a sign that read “Blood on your hands,” stood on their desks. The first city council meeting since the Aug. 12 rally, which left 19 injured and one killed in violent confrontations between the alt-right rally-goers and protesters, then resumed for a three-hour listening session. The crowd lined up to scream into the microphone at the mayor and city council that presided over the police action, and approved the rally permit in Emancipation Park hours before the event took place. “Mike you need to leave,” one protester said to Mayor Mike Signer. “You just showed us how weak you are, you just showed us you aren’t a leader.” Another angry citizen slammed the police...

Trump Moves Decisively In Favor of the War Hawks in Afghanistan Speech

Many people who held their nose and voted for Donald Trump did so because they believed this was a man who would roll back the wars of aggression being run by former President Barack Obama.  Well, after a series of hints that went in multiple directions about how President Trump would approach Afghanistan, it appears that the hawks have won.  Call them globalists, call them establishment, call them what you want, what they have in common is a committment to bomb the world to freedumb. from news.antiwar.com   Throughout the US war in Afghanistan, times of struggle have often led US officials to blame Pakistan. While President Trump’s Afghan policy speechstopped short of blaming Pakistan outright for the war’s woes, he did say that a “strategy for how do deal with Pakistan” was a vital part of the war. Trump said Pakistan “often gives safe harbor to agents of chaos of violence,” and that this is “worse because Pakistan and India are two nuclear-armed states.” He added that the US “will no longer be silent” about Pakistan’s safe harbors. At the same time, Trump declared Pakistan a “valued partner” against common enemies, and praised Pakistan’s contributions to the conflict so far. He did, however, complain the US is paying Pakistan “billions and billions of dollars.” That claim isn’t actually true. The US owed Pakistan $900 million for services rendered in 2016, but...

Obama’s Operation Choke Point Comes to an End

On August 16h, Assistant Attorney General Stephen E. Boyd sent a letter to House Republicans that the Justice Department would be ending the program called “Operation Choke Point.”  Last Friday, on August 18th, Republican House members announced to the public that the Justice Department, under President Trump, would be ending former President Obama’s “Operation Choke Point” program.  The program was designed to target firearms and ammunitions retails by putting pressure on financial institutions to make it difficult for these retailers to stay in business.  The House Republicans were responding to a letter sent by other GOP House members requesting that the program be shut down. That letter read, in part:   [W]e request that your respective Departments and agencies issue clear and public formal policy statements repudiating Operation Choke Point and the abuses by financial regulators of the “reputation risk” guidance they developed and promulgated under Operation Choke Point’s auspices. Financial institutions should be given explicit assurance that they may serve these unfairly targeted industries just like any other legitimate businesses. Institutions should also be encouraged to restore long-standing relationships with lawful, targeted industries. Read the full letter here. The Assistant Attorney General, Stephen E. Boyd, responded, in part: “This responds to your letter to the Attorney General dated August 10, 2017, regarding  Operation Chokepoint, a misguided initiative conducted during the previous administration. We share your view that law...
