Tim Pawlenty considering Gen. David Petraeus as running mate

Speaking on Hugh Hewitt radio show, former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty said Wednesday that he is considering Gen. David Petraeus as a potential running mate.

Asked if he would consider the military leader in his search for a potential running mate, Mr. Pawlenty said Mr. Petraeus was on the “short-list.”

“Well, he’d be on the short list for a lot of things,” Mr. Pawlenty said. “He is a remarkable leader, exemplary leader. He’s somebody I think the country owes a debt of gratitude to. He’s knowledgeable, strong. He’s served his country
