Matthew Reed – A Breath of Fresh Air for Christian Worship Music

In today’s ever-changing world, it is hard to find a difference in the Christian 
music community. Most of the songs hitting the airwaves of Christian radio are almost all interchangeable. Many bands seem to be recreating their own version of worship songs, slowing or speeding up the timing, perhaps even a change of key. Few bands, or artists, try to break free of this watery sort of music-making. With that being said, we are introduced to Matt Reed, a Christian artist who not only produces unique worship music, but also wishes for more artists to take this stand.
Matt Reed received his first drum set when he was at the age of 4. After this, he gradually added bass and guitar to his gamut of instruments. Later on, as a teenager, he helped to plant the Church of the Highlands. He also was mentored by Daniel Bashta as part of a traveling band, where he attributed most of the experience with instruments that he has today. After graduating high school in 2005, he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for LIGHT ministry. Now, he is finally releasing a six-track CD, due for release this summer.
While not being as famous as some Christian artists, the splash he is creating is superb. His name is circulating throughout many Christian blogs and music sites and, with the release of this CD, he is sure to become one of the biggest contributors to Christian music and worship. Not only because of the instrumental prowess he possesses but also because of the unprecedented sound that he is creating with his music; taking an indie approach. This is also Matt’s first true attempt at song-writing – a step a lot of artists have trouble with – that seems to work perfectly, according to most of the reviews.
Matt Reed is definitely going to be a key component in stirring the youth in a revolution. His music presents its unique sound in a wholesome way that is relatable but powerful. Be on the look out for this artist, because he is sure to find his way onto your music playlists.
