One of the most notorious, and perhaps even corrupt, politicians associated with the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac debacle, Chris Dodd, is now the new CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America. While the Hollywood elites gush over the former, and discredited, Senator, they also reveal their own long-time interest in continuing what is, essentially, an unholy junta of Progressives in government, business, the unions, and Hollywood.

While no doubt the MPAA itself has become little more than a propaganda ministry for the Progressive Elite they serve, the coziness between Progressive Elites in government and Progressive Elites in Hollywood has generally been denied or at least obscured, although any careful observer would know better and see past the fiction.

Progressive work in teams and groups, that was revealed recently when we saw the journolist email leaks revealing collusion between writers and news media personalities to skew news in favor of their Progressive agenda and in the climnate-gate scandals when Progressives willfully manipulated “scientific data” in favor of their global warming bogeyman myth.

Chris Dodd was the Senate’s banking committee chairman and is well known for his cozy relationship with Progressive Elites in the corporate world, even as he is well known for his coziness with Progressive Elites in Hollywood.  Dodd is also very cozy with Progressive elites in the Unions.

With his foot in all four Progressive camps, Dodd became, and seems to remain, a Progressive Elite “deal-maker”, holding all the threads of the Progressive Elite junta in one firm grasp, coordinating seemingly separate and non-related elements for a common goal- transforming the American Civilization from a Judeo-Christian Free Society into a secular humanist one-party welfare state.

Dodd was a recipient of “special” loans from Countrywide, whose Progressive Elites were very friendly to the Senator, was a staunch advocate for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and even after he said that the two institutions needed reform, refused to vote for anything more than having Timothy Geithner, a Progressive Elitist from the corporate world, do a “study”. This same man, Geithner, raised the $400 Billion bailout limit for the two federal subsidiaries which continue to cost taxpayers BILLIONS.

Dodd was also a great “friend” to ACORN, the notorious socialist group associated with Obama and “community organizing.” ACORN directly promoted Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s involvement in subprime loans which are the real root cause of the “housing crisis.”  Dodd is known to have attended special evemts and meetings at ACORN’s offices in order to help “to stop foreclosures.” Dodd also tried to add BILLIONS in funding dollars for ACORN in the “stimulus bill.”

Dodd is a friend and champion of the Progressuve Unions which use unfair access to politicians, through collective bargaining, civil service protections, AND taxpayer-funded political activity to blackmail taxpayers into supporting their high pay and benefits coupled with job security and lack of accountability.

Back in July of 2009,Dodd re-allocated money from anti-terrorism security (including airport screening) for a program that would funnel money to the Firefighters’ Union, allegedly as payback for that Union’s support of him during the Iowa caucus leading up the 2008 Presidential elections. This kind of behavior is typical of the former Senator who consistently places his Progressive Elite friends over every other interest, including national security.

For the MPAA, who fancy themselves gatekeepers of our culture, Dodd is a “perfect fit”, a man who can curry favor in all of the Progressive elite camps, a man who truly has friends in “high places”, friends who, like him, place their friend’s in the Progressive Elite junta above all other interests or concerns.

Dodd knows how to protect the parachial interest of his Patrons in the MPAA.

Last year  a new company tried to create a “Prediction Market” that would look at new movie ideas and allow people to directly “bet” on what films they think will earn money, and which would not. One such prediction market, InTrade, which operates out of Ireland, has an over 90% accuracy. prediction markets are not like games of chance, you are using knowledge and skill to predict possible outcomes, in the same way that stocks and bonds are bought and sold.

The idea was revolutionary and many “predicted” that it would open up the market to productions that, due to the bias of Hollywood Elites, might not otherwise have a fighting chance.

The studios and the MPAA opposed this. Only Lionsgate came out in support of the idea.  The very idea that the deciding factor for what movies would get funding and promotion on their merit alone, without going through the Progressive Elite gatekeepers, alarmed the Hollywood Elite.

Chris Dodd and his pal, Barney Frank, shot the idea down and passed a law to PREVENT the new predictions market from operating.

This is typical of the very elites who talk so much about “democracy” and “fairness”, they like the words but they do not like their true meaning!

Chris Dodd is the new face of the Hollywood Elite who consider themselves to be the gatekeepers of our culture and who now want a more formal and visible role in being players in our actual public policy, in league with their Union Allies and the Journolist Media.

…..In one of those little pesky amendments being offered as part of the $700 billion bailout of the financial industries, the affordable housing crowd has inserted a requirement that some proceeds from the sale of a distressed asset to the infamous Federal Housing Trust Fund, which hands out more free money to dubious housing projects run by non-profits.

Some of the money will also find its way to the Barack Obama Alumni Association, also known as community activist groups that promote “affordable housing” and other victim rights. One of the groups certain to benefit is ACORN, which has made an art form of illegally registering voters.

As you may have read, last night the U.S. Senate voted to defund ACORN in the wake of their “whores R us” scandal.

Many of the 83 Senators who voted “yea” are going now to desperately sweep all their close ties with the troubled activist group into the ‘ole memory hole. But one Senator is going to have an especially hard time doing this.

Sen. Dodd Meets with ACORN to Discuss Foreclosure Prevention

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – U.S. Senator Chris Dodd and Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch met to discuss strategies for fighting foreclosures March 28 at the home of ACORN member Donna Pearce.Pearce thanked the senator for his support of NeighborWorks, which helps provide funding for foreclosure counseling services. She was able to work out a loan modification to save her home from foreclosure by working with ACORN’s housing counselors.”I think we’re all just a bit jealous of the great work ACORN does,” said Finch. He later added, “We should make sure everyone who signs that paperwork to buy a house has ACORN’s number tattooed on their wrist.”Dodd recently unveiled draft legislation, the “HOPE for Homeowners Act of 2008,” that would set up a mortgage refinancing division of the Federal Housing Administration to aid homeowners overwhelmed with unaffordable mortgages. Similar legislation has also been drafted by House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank.“This proposal will help provide much-needed relief for people on the brink of foreclosure,” Dodd said. The bill, which extends only to owner-occupied houses, is aimed at “keeping families in their houses and neighborhoods financially stable.”
