I am not sure how many of you remember this post: http://theparentingpassageway.com/2009/08/21/summer-planning-christian-education-for-the-waldorf-home/ and how I was searching for something different for our morning devotion time?
Well, I found this book by Ruth Graham: http://www.amazon.com/Step-into-Bible-Stories-Devotions/dp/0310714109/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8s=booksqid=1253494109sr=8-6. I like it better at this point than the other devotional book we were using. I think the other book will be perfect when my children are older, but it just seemed like it was not hitting the spot for my children in the morning.
The 100 Bible Stories in the Ruth Graham book are short with a devotion, lots of colorful pictures, a few quick questions and a Bible Memory Verse that repeats for seven lessons.
Hope that helps a few of you who are looking for resources,
Carrie

carrie, new here and loving your site, you offer so much – thank you! i am wondering…at what age would you begin a devotional with children (something more than saying a verse to welcome the day)? again, so happy to find you and your writings

Let’s see, we have always done bedtime prayers from the beginning and blessings before bed….I think we started “Leading Little Ones to God” at about 3 and a half or so and kept it short, I had to modify some of it because it is a bit more conservative than we are, but it wasn’t a bad fit…. You can always modify, modify, modify!

thanks so much! my firstborn daughter is 3 yrs and 5 months and i was just starting to feel that she might be ready (we have also done mealtime and bedtime blessings for quite sometime, but i was thinking she could benefit from more now or soon) – i appreciate your reply and offerings very much! i will surely check out the ones you mentioned~

I think the main, main thing for this age is to keep it really short! More about that in a bit…:)
Blessings,
Carrie
