In a conference call, reported by the liberal blog, Reid was quoted as saying he had the support of two GOP Senators.

Reid described the current recess as a “time-out period” for the energy bill, to see if enough Senators can come together and pass it before the end of the year. He did offer a glimmer of hope on one piece that concerns environmentalists, however. Asked if the bill could still include a renewable energy standard, Reid said that two GOP Senators have expressed an interest in such a standard, and he would be talking to them next week. I know that Sam Brownback is one of those two; not sure yet on the other.”
This has caused national attention to fall on the special election in Delaware to fill the Biden seat, the winner of which will be seated immediately after the election (and not, as with the rest, in January). The establishment has supposed that well funded former governor, their favorite, liberal Mike Castle, running in the GOP primary against the conservative Christine O’Donnell, was a ‘shoe-in’ and that he then would ride the anti-Democrat wave into the Senate.
Harry Reid himself may not be too much opposed to the GOP establishment getting its way in Delaware. Mike Castle, currently a Congressman, voted FOR Cap and Trade and is, according to some rumors, thought to be one of the two GOP votes on which Reid is counting. Castle also supported and co-sponsored the “Disclose Act” which would have prevented groups like the Tea Party Express and others from effecting an upset in Alaska, where a GOP establishment candidate fell to a populist candidate, Joe Miller.
Reid’s Lame Duck agenda may be in jeopardy, however, because of the sudden emergence of Christine O’Donnell as the next “Joe Miller” running against an establishment Republican and likely vote for the Cap and Trade multi-trillion dollar tax increase on our energy bills.
O’Donnell’s win would ensure that there are 40 votes in the Lame Duck Session to stop Reid’s massive tax-hike plan from being passed. New developments are changing the situation on the ground. Castle’s presumed shoe-in to the nomination, and with it Reid’s Lame Duck strategy, are in serious trouble!
The reading of the Tea Leaves, which might spell doom for the Castle-Reid Cap and Trade Tax Plan, first emerged in Alaska with Joe Miller’s upset victory over Lisa Murkowski.
Republican incumbent Senator from Alaksa, Murkowski, was achieved mostly by $250,000 of independent spending by the Tea Party Express, according to the Wall Street Journal, which also reported that this same group, the Tea Party Express, will be spending $600,000 in the Delaware race to repeat the Joe Miller upset and replace the “presumptive’ GOP nominee, Mike Castle, with a candidate who will, unlike Castle, oppose Cap and Trade.
The O’Donnell campaign has set up http://www.sockittojoe.com, an underpublicized “Money Bomb” website designed to bring in $5 and $10 donations from conservatives all over America who are rallying around the O’Donnell candidacy in an effort to ensure that O’Donnell has enough “get out the vote” money to become the 40th vote to filibuster Harry Reid and his sinister Lame Duck strategy.
If O’Donnell is to win the primary, an increasingly likely event, she will need to have “Get Out The Vote” money to help push her over the top, hence the $5 and $10 donations being sought via http://www.sockittojoe.com. Americans are taking this opportunity to chip in their $5 to $10 to help stop Harry Reid’s massive tax hike, the largest in the history of civilization, according to Freedomist research.

Mike Castle has not, but yet may, deny the rumors that he has sold his vote for Cap and Trade, a measure he has already voted for in the House. Despite any claim not to go along with any Lame Duck agenda, Castle’s credibility is thin. The Democrat candidate who eeked out a victory over Doug Hoffman in New York promised not to support Obamacare, a promise he broke not 12 hours after Hoffman conceded defeat!
