The Delaware Senate Race is pitting unlikely allies against a Constitutional Republican.

When you start to see the Huffington Post run with the same narrative put out by the Next Right’s founder, Patrick Ruffini, via his campaign marketing firm, then you know “something’s fishy in Denmark.”

Recently, liberals and so-called “professional conservatives” went on a tear against Christine O’Donnel due to the bad behavior of a former staffer, whose innuendo aimed at Castle’s marriage was condemned by O’Donnell. One professional conservative even went so far as to “pull the plug” on Delaware in a fit of confused angst over what Eric Odem, and NOT Christine O’Donnell, said about Castle’s marriage, this despite the fact that his support amounted to an endorsement not followed by any tangible action- one supposes that he thinks his “plug pulling” and his OWN innuendo about her campaign “imploding” will be enough to bury her, although he still says he wants her to win.

Who would have thought one “cool” girl, as James Carville called her, with the brains to boot and a proven track record of standing for the values most conservatives say they believe in, would have drawn out and exposed the difference between movement conservatives and professional conservatives so clearly.

On one hand, we have the new right, led by Ruffini, and the red right, led by professional conservatives ganging up on non-substantive issues to torpedo a real conservative and on the other hand you have the left pretty much taking their cue from the new and red right to help their candidate, Mike Castle, win the GOP primary and ensure that there is no way for the GOP to stop their Lame Duck agenda.

Some might suppose this is a civil war within the conservative movement, but in reality it’s a revolution and the Delaware Senate Race is fast becoming the Lexington and Concord of the Movement Conservatives against the next right and the red right, or whatever else these professional conservatives want to call themselves.

NOTE- for the record, I do not ascribe to ANY notion that conservatives should be colored “red”, this was a media ploy to confuse people who the REAL reds are, the LEFT. Blue has always been the color of conservatives and always will be. A “red” conservative is a conservative who lets the media define who they are, even down to their color, and the terms of the debate, a movement, or BLUE conservative stays true blue to the values and does not let the media define them, not even the color that will represent them!
