Dealing With The Intolerable Acts

A law is only as strong as its enforcement. If enforcement is weak by virtue of the will of the enforcers or by virtue of the resistance of the People then the law is pretty much just tissue paper! We see this very often with immigration laws and local codes or many safety regulations.

In the early days of the New Deal, the Blue Eagle of the ERA came to symbolize fascism and tyranny as price and wage controls were rejected, resisted, and their enforcers often faced being beaten up by angry workers or shop keepers. The ERA was not enforceable because the People were so angry that they would NOT abide it, so they did not obey it.

Now we have Intolerable Acts, Obama’s 21st century version of the Intolerable Acts that were the British Crown’s response to the Boston Tea Party, and perhaps these Intolerable Acts (from “Health Care” to the “Disclose Act”) will met the same solid wall of resistance as the ERA and as King George’s Intolerable Acts which likewise aimed at weakening local popular self government and individual political and economic freedom!

A good friend advised this writer not to cal bot boycotts of laws lest I lose my credibility, but if my credibility is more dear than my inherent, God-given fredom then I would not be a good patriot of the Freedom Movement, now would I? When governments break the law under the banner of law we who then obey the illegal acts are aiding and abetting in the commision of a crime against freedom as far as I am concerned.

The question is not “what is possible” but, rather, what is right! Patrick Henry was not just being rhetorical when he said “but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!”

We can debate with radical leftwing extremists, we can run to courts, we can hope for good media coverage, or we can rely on the GOP to reverse things- but as for me, I prefer to live free because I was born a free man, and that means I don’t have ANY moral, ethical, or legal reason to give up my freedom if or when these so-called guardians of my liberty fail in their duty!

I am not calling for radicalism and I eschew violence as a Christian and as a loyal American, but I am urging others to simply seek any peacable means to avoid, opt out of, or, if need be, civily disobey each and every Intolerable Act the current American President and his radical Congress cram down our throats!

If we rely on OTHERS in poitics, media, or the courts to protect our freedoms then we will lose those freedoms because these Guardians have failed us.
