Mike Castle- Is he washing his hands of Leftist Guilt?

Mike Castle followed Joe Biden’s lead in joining only two republicans in voting for the Union Teacher Bailout wrapped around the so-callled Jobs Bill.  Had Mike Castle been in the Senate, would he have been the 41st vote to stop the far left agenda of the Obama-Reid-Pelosi ‘fundamental transformation of America’?  We think not.

Mike Castle is the presumed-to-be GOP nominee in the Delaware Senate Primary for this November’s Special Senate Election to fill the Joe Biden Seat.  This is a series on Mike Castle that details his unconstitutional, extreme left Liberal voting history.  If Mike Castle wins the GOP nomination in the Delaware Senate Primary race, Freedomists, Constitutionalists, will have no hope of stopping the Obama-Reid-Pelosi Lame Duck Congress from cramming Cap and Trade, Card Check, and many more extreme left programs through.

Rep. Mike Castle broke with his party today and voted yes on legislation that will provide additional federal assistance to state budgets and schools.

The legislation is expected to mean $75 million for Delaware — $45 million into state coffers and $27 million for schools…..

…Castle was one of two Republicans who voted in favor of the legislation. The second was Rep. Joseph Cao, who represents a heavily Democratic district in New Orleans, La.

Castle released the following statement about his vote:

In normal circumstances, individual states have the primary responsibility of maintaining a budget to meet the challenging economic times and I don’t believe that the federal government should be in the habit of closing these gaps. However, I supported this aid package to states at a time of economic hardship in order to preserve vital medical services to the neediest of Americans and prevent layoffs within our education community.  The bill was less than ideal but remained in line with rules to offset the cost of the aid so that American taxpayers are protected from an increase in the federal deficit.
