People Powered Congress gets CSPAN coverage

The idea of sending congress home to vote remotely from their home district is catching root. THE FREEDOOMIST is a part of a new online group, PEOPLE POWERED CONGRESS, which is dedicated to championing the ideas of the remote congressional vote to neutralize the power of lobbyists over a congress conveniently separated from the people in one, eassy-access place (for lobbyists, not constituents of the congressman), the DC Beltway.
One of the prominent members of the People Powered Congress (in a list that includes Micah Sifry and Lawrence Lessig, to name a few), Ralph Benko, recently promoted the People Powered Congress this past Sunday on CSPAN’s legendary WASHINGTON JOURNAL.
One of the major reasons THE FREEDOMIST supports this new movement is its broad appeal to both the LEFT and the RIGHT. Whether you are a progressive or a conservative, a libertarian or a liberal, you will find common ground under this issue, to take the power of lobbyists out of Washington by taking congress out of the beltway. Bring the Representatives of the people HOME to the PEOPLE where they belong.
