“Sorry” From Pope To Sex Abuse Victims But No Penalty For Perps
As the sex scandal spreads throughout Europe, the victims and their families received an apology from Pope Benedict XVI. The Pope expressed shame and remorse for the”sinful and criminal” acts done by members of the clergy. Although, the Pope expresses many words of apology in his letter, no action is mentioned being done to punish the perpetrators. In the past Priests have been moved from one parish to another where accusations of abuse have risen again. The victims would like to see some action taken as well as the clarification of some Vatican rules that seem to allow abuse to continue. Shame on you church and Pope! Words without action are empty words! Playing “move the pervert” is definetly not the answer!
