Federal Government to Grow to 2.15 Million Employees in 2010- fox news

The Obama administration projects the number of employees on the government payroll will grow to 2.15 million this year, reportedly making it the largest federal workforce in modern history and fueling criticism over the size of government.

The Washington Times reported Wednesday that the bulk of the increase is on the civilian side, which is expected to grow by 153,000 workers in 2010.

The expansion means the workforce will top 2 million for the first time since President Clinton declared that “the era of big government is over,” according to the newspaper.

The expansion comes even as Obama calls for cutting the deficit and imposing a three-year freeze on some non-security spending.

Heritage’s Brian Riedl conducted a quick analysis of President Obama’s Fiscal Year 2010 budget and found that the President’s policies would hike taxes by more than $2 trillion over the next decade (counting health care reform and cap-and-trade), raise taxes for 3.2 million small businesses and upper-income taxpayers by an average of $300,000 over the next decade, leave permanent deficits that top $1 trillion in as late as 2020, and double the publicly held national debt to over $18 trillion.

Marines gear up for push into Afghan Taliban enclave- Reuters

CAMP LEATHERNECK, Afghanistan (Reuters) – Thousands of U.S. Marines are preparing to take on a southern Afghanistan Taliban enclave in a massive show of force intended as a decisive start to President Barack Obama’s “surge” of 30,000 extra troops.

The assault, expected to begin within days, will trigger the start of what is expected to be a bloody 2010 fighting season. U.S. and NATO forces hope to make military gains that will turn the tide this year so they can begin withdrawing next year.

The foreign media seem to look at the surge as just an attempt to kill as many Taliban as possible to bring them to the bargaining table:

These killings are the product of the military “surge” ordered by the Obama administration, which is increasing the US troop deployment in the country by another 30,000. How is the Obama surge different than the Bush surge? It may be less focused on a winning end goal and more focused on the World War One and Vietnam war tactic of practicing a war of attrition that gets the other side to negotiate.

Baptist prof fears Haiti arrests will set back adoption movement- associated baptist press

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (ABP) — A Southern Baptist seminary professor says the arrests of a group of Baptists from the United States accused of trying to remove children from earthquake-stricken Haiti without proper documentation could give a black eye to a budding movement of evangelicals who view adoption as a means of spreading the gospel.

Russell Moore, senior vice president for academic administration and dean of the School of Theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, recounted his reaction to hearing the news that 10 Americans accused of human trafficking were members of Baptist churches Feb. 1 on the “Albert Mohler Radio Program.”

The issue of what the Christian knew or did not know about the children actually having parents seems to be in doubt.

The 10 Americans who were arrested in Haiti last week for attempting to illegally transport 33 children out of the country ignored warnings that their plans were against the law, an American human rights advocate told the United Nations in an e-mail.

The new revelations paint a darker picture of the Americans who are sitting in a Haitian jail in Port-au-Prince awaiting a hearing to determine their future.

On January 29, a group of Americans from Idaho, Texas, and Kansas were arrested at the Haitian-Dominican Republic border when they failed to present proper paperwork for 33 children in their custody. The children ranged in age from two months to 12 years old, and had their names scribbled on tape affixed to their shirts. The group told border guards that the children were all orphans, and that they planned to take them to a hotel at a Dominican resort until a more permanent orphanage could be built.

A mission team from two Southern Baptist churches in Idaho arrested for attempting to take 33 children from Haiti to a temporary orphanage in the neighboring Dominican Republic was only trying to help children suffering in the aftermath of the Jan. 12 earthquake that devastated Port-au-Prince, according to the pastor of one of the churches.

The big news in last year’s budget release was the revelation that the Obama administration planned to use cap-and-trade to raise $646 billion dollars over ten years to finance its big spending programs. I checked in this year’s budget was how much revenue was expected from the cap-and-trade energy tax, to which the president reiterated his commitment in his State of the Union address last week. The surprising answer is the budget actually has, literally, a blank line for the cap-and-trade tax. A black box. A slush fund. A secret budget-within-the-budget. Talk about a lack of transparency.

Who is Rahm Emamnuel and what is the real heartbeat of Rahm Emanuel’s life?

 Born in 1959, Rahm Israel Emanuel has a name of the highest nobility: Rahm means “high and lofty”, Israel means “prince of God”, and Emanuel means “God with us.”

If ever a man’s name was ITSELF a case of “using the name of God in vain”, Rahm Emanuel’s name is in fact just such a case.

Rahm Emanuel is a man who embraces abortion, does not have any regard for the Constitution, has no higher aim than the profit of himself and his party and no greater ethic than “win votes.”

Rahm dances around the truth like a ballerina, in fact, Rahm Emanuel is in fact a graduate of a ballet school! Can you see him in tights?

Rahm Emanual is a close friend of David Axelrod, who signed Rahm’s marriage contract and whose ethics seem to be the same as Rahm’s.

Rahm Emanuel cut his teeth in the underworld of Chicagoland politics working for neo-Maoist organizations that were cleverly disguised as public advocacy groups, like Illinois Public Action, a bland sounding name for an ultra socialist group that sought to eliminate the free market and remove moral constraints from society.

While Rahm served in the Israel Defense Forces as a civilian worker in the first Gulf War, his allegiance to the anti-semitic elites that surround Barach Obama has made some concerned Jews compare him to a Kapo: a Jewish prisoner who worked for the Germans in the second world war. As advisor to Clinton, Rahm Emanuel “proudly” orchestrated the now infamous Oslo accords which presaged and which many say were the cause of hundreds of Arab terrorist attacks and hundreds of Isreali deaths.

Rahm’s days at the Clinton White House were filled with scandal, from cussing out Tony Blair to screaming “dead, dead” and plunging a knife into a steak as he recited Clinton’s enemy’s names after the 1996 election: any High School student who did this would be arrested today, but Rahm Emanuel serves such tantrums at the White House and there is nary a whisper.

While Rahm Emanuel loves to demonize bankers, you can be sure he won’t be returning the $16.2 MILLION he earned as a banker from 2000 to 2002, and he probably does not want anyone to ask how he could make that much money considering that he had spent his whole career, after being a ballerina, in politics.

Rahm Emanuel also served on Freddie Mac’s Board while all the accounting tricks were happening, but despite only officially attending 6 meetings a year, Rahm was given over $300,000: that’s $50,000 a meeting but Rahm Emanuel is not likely to give back any of those obscene profits any more than his new boss, Obama, is likely to change his mind about letting the public see what happened at those meetings.

While Rahm Emanuel is a pro Abortion extremist, and a gun-phobe who hates the second amendment, and a radical progressive extremist in his rabid hatred for the free market, in reality, Rahm Israel Immanuel is the opposite of his name:

Rahm is not lofty, as his name says, he is an underworld character of ill repute, his middle name, Israel, may mean “prince of God” but be is no prince and he does not seem to know God, and, of course, when Emanuel is with us it is not “God” but something else, something that smells of sulphur, that is with us.

In the end, any nation that would elevate a man like Rahm Emanuel to such a position of influence is in deep trouble!
