Sarah Palin Spoke The Truth About Death Panels: Of Course The Government Will
Ration And Deny Care- rightwingnews

http://rightwingnews.com/#post5502

How will the government “save”
money? 1. Ration 2. Pay less for what they do cover 3. Increase taxes

As to the whole “Death Panel” deal, and Jim DeMint’s finding that the Senate
legislation includes a provision forcing future Senates to never get rid of, um,
Death Panels, I mean, rationing boards. You know that pointy headed group who
will decide the fates of 300 million Americans? Yeah, them.

The Greatest Scam On Earth

from Red State

http://www.redstate.com/erick/2009/12/23/the-greatest-scam-on-earth/

Today the Senate of the United States voted on a constitutional point of order
raised by Senators Jim DeMint and John Ensign.

The Senators challenged the constitutionality of the individual mandate in the
Democrats’ health care legislation. The individual mandate is a federally
imposed requirement that every man, woman, and child in the United States obtain
health insurance on pain of financial penalty or, in the Democrats’ proposal,
jail.

Put more plainly, if you chose not to have health insurance, the Congress of the
United States intends to punish you by taking away your property or your life
via incarceration.

All 39 of the Republican Senators still present in
Washington today voted that the

individual mandate is unconstitutional.

For Their Next Trick . . .

The latest example of violating principles of transparency and
accountability in the single-minded pursuit of legislative victory- from the
Wall street journal

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704254604574614183270356274.html

Look for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to try
to circumvent the traditional conference committee process by which the
different versions of health care reform passed by each house will be
reconciled. If so, it will be the latest example of violating principles of
transparency and accountability in the single-minded pursuit of legislative
victory.

Conferences involving members from both houses are messy things. They are
usually conducted in public and often televised, and can produce a compromise
version of the bill that leaves rank-and-file members tempted to vote against
the final version. That could be perilous in the case of health care since it’s
likely to pass without a vote to spare in the Senate and the House’s version
passed by only five votes.

Republicans Unlikely to Repeal Health Care Reform
-
from CQ Politics

More proof the GOP took an all-or-nothing
gamble
on health care reform: The
Hill
reports that Sen. Mike Crapo (R-ID) said Republicans are unlikely to be
able to repeal the legislation anytime in the near future.

http://politicalwire.com/archives/2009/12/23/republicans_unlikely_to_repeal_health_care_reform.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=political-wire

Said Crapo: “Technically it could be peeled back if the circumstances were
right. But we would have to have a president who would sign such a bill, and we
would have to have 60 votes in the Senate — not just 50. So it would be a very
tall order, and frankly, the likelihood’s that that’s not going to develop in
the near future.”

Nelson: Earlier Benefits May Complicate Health Care Negotiations- from talking
points memo (TPM)

As I noted yesterday, Democrats are starting to talk up the idea that moving the
implementation of key benefits forward might be one way to ease a final health
care bill through the House of Representatives. The caveat, of course, is that
the earlier the benefits kick in, the more the bill will cost in the
Congressional Budget Office’s initial 10 year window.

This afternoon, Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE) says that could create problems.

“We’ll just have to look at the numbers,” Nelson told reporters. “I think that’s
what’s the question.”

We Have The Actual Roll Call Sheet. Nelson Was For It Before Being
Against It

-
from red state

The Senate of the United States just voted to table Jim DeMint’s proposed
amendment that would prevent cash for cloture compromises.

As you will recall, Ben Nelson was bribed by Harry Reid to vote for the health
care bill via targeted earmarks that will only benefit Nebraska.

DeMint asked for the Senate to suspend its rules to consider his amendment,
which would prohibit such deals in the future.

Clyburn:
What Capitol Hill needs is a lot more vote buying- from hot air blog

http://hotair.com/archives/2009/12/23/clyburn-what-capitol-hill-needs-is-a-lot-more-vote-buying/

My, how times have changed.  In 2006, Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats won
majorities in both chambers of Congress by running against the “culture of
corruption,” pledging to operate openly and honestly on Capitol Hill.  Two years
later, Barack Obama rode to victory by pledging to change the way Washington DC
operates, declaring that he would lead the most open and transparent government
ever.  Now Rep. James Clyburn, as House Majority Whip the third-ranking Democrat
in the House, has declared that Republicans
should join Democrats in buying and selling votes rather than complain about the
corruption on Capitol Hill

This video does not show everything. Basically, what is happening is that the
student, wearing a white jacket and red clothes, is climbing the fence and
throwing away the government supporter’s flag (the flag of the current regime).
You don’t see any flags in this version of the video.

Iran
2009 Election Post
Khamenei Speech
-
from toocan

Does Iran’s wacky
putative leaders think their clubbing, gassing, tasering, shooting,
torturing, imprisoning, and killing protesters is demonstrating mercy
(see Amnesty International’s Post-election Iran violations
some of the worst in recent
history…

Misblog – http://toocan.com/lunog/index.php/misblog/

Perhaps the most disturbing news story comes from Sirjan, where protestors
actually prevented the execution of two men.

City of Sirjan Revolts
- from thenewestdeal.org

http://www.thenewestdeal.org/2009/12/city-of-sirjan-revolts.html

The city of Sirjan witnessed a small
revolt
yesterday when thousands
of protesters halted the execution of two convicted criminals.

Esmayil Fathalizade and Mohammad Esfandiarpoor were scheduled to be publicly
hanged for possession of illegal firearms and robbery before relatives of the
two disrupted the execution.

In an effort to save face, Iran has offered some token red meat to the
protestors by charging two police officers with murder.

Iran to try officers involved in Kahrizak murders- from sweetness-light

http://sweetness-light.com/archive/iran-admits-murdering-3-protest-prisoners

Police officers involved in fatal violence at Tehran’s infamous Kahrizak
facility have been charged with murder, Iran’s armed forces say.

A
statement from the Judicial Organization for the Armed Forces on Saturday
announced that according to forensic information three
of the 168 people detained during the country’s post-election violence, six
months ago, were killed while being held at the Tehran facility.

Finally, here is the fundamental reason why this regime has absolutely
lost complete control of the people, violations of sacred taboos within the
Muslim faith itself.  Coming from a regime that came to power with a
promise of Muslim utopianism, this is a particularly damning violation.

Broken Taboos in Post-Election Iran- from Tabsir

http://tabsir.net/?p=1029

The on-camera martyrdom of Neda Agha-Soltan, the 26-year old
philosophy student shot dead during the protests after the fraudulent
presidential election in Iran in June, caught the imagination of the world. But
the post-election crackdown has two other victims whose fates better capture the
radical shift in the country’s political culture. One victim was the protester
Taraneh Mousavi, detained, reportedly raped and murdered in prison, and her body
burned and discarded. The other is Majid Tavakoli, the student leader arrested
on December 8, after a fiery speech denouncing dictatorship during the
demonstrations on National Student Day…..

….In Iran, as in many neighboring countries, sexual honor is a core value, so
deeply ingrained in the dominant culture that it is rarely questioned or even
discussed except when it is attacked or infringed. Girls are brought up to
understand that their honor resides in their bodies; boys are raised with one of
their prime duties being to protect the honor of their sisters. These practices
mean that a woman’s sexual morality is always the concern of some man: her
father, brothers, husband, sons.

As the mad mullahs rush to create the chaos that will usher in the last imam,
their hold on their own lands becomes increasingly tenuous,  The actions of
this regime, the use of Palestinian murderers (the Basiji) to target fellow
muslims has casued a quiet shift in the so-called Arab street away from
supporting the Palestinian cause at all.  The actions of this regime have
caused its own undoing, and the discrediting of the Palestinian cause as well
amongst Muslims who increasingly view Hamas and Hezbollah, the sources of the
murderers, as being enemies of Islam.
